Before I get to my question, I'd just like to ask again: So does anyone know what it says on the
drama cd adverts? I didn't get any replies about that in my last post, so just thought I'd ask again since I'm really hoping to be able to get my mitts on those drama cds. :p
Anyway, here's the real question of this post...
I was flipping through volume 5 of the manga, one of my favourite volumes (kudos to those who can guess why. It shouldn't be too hard. XD), when I noticed that in
this pic, which shows the Shiseiten minus Akira in the shadows, it seems like there's actually an extra person? 0_o I'm taking it that the three who have speech bubbles are the Shiseiten, but what about the female-like figure that has no speech bubble? I've got a marked out picture
here for those who don't get what I'm talking about.
And THEN this reminds me of a little scene that's always been bugging me... trawled through my manga to find it and
there it was in volume 11 - anyone remember the scene where, after Akira has stolen Kyo's body, a woman named Suzaku welcomed him back and called him "Akira-sama"? I always wondered about her, since this is the ONLY time in the entire manga so far that she shows up, and it seems out of place that she never appears ever again. Plus, it makes me wonder what she is to Akira - what was he doing in the time after Kyo left the Shiseiten to be able to get a servant loyal to him alone? I say "alone" because she definitely can't be a servant to the Nobunaga or the Juunishinshou since Akira had stolen Kyo's body from them and I doubt she'd keep quiet about it if she was Nobunaga's underling.
I'm wondering if Suzaku's just a character that Kamijyo-sensei made up and then forgot after the quest-to-get-Kyo's-body-back-from-Akira got morphed into the quest-to-save-Yuya's-life-from-Shinrei, or whether she could possibly be someone who'll prove to be pretty important (Especially since she has a name that's the same as one of Kyo's Ougi) in later chapters. Considering we're at least 20 volumes ahead of her one and only appearance in the entire manga, it might possibly mean that the first option is likely. Especially since, as many people have pointed out, there ARE so many characters in SDK that it gets confusing, so it's not impossible that Kamijyo-sensei's forgotten about her. BUT Kamijyo-sensei is also known for throwing in lots of twists and surprises in the manga, so it's not completely implausible that he'll do anything like this. If that's so, then I'm wondering whether it's possible that she'll appear or at least be mentioned when the last few Juuyuushi show up (IF Kamijyo-sensei is planning to include them, which I assume he is since four of them have appeared in the current arc). I say this because in the
second scan of the Suzaku scene, Akira mentions having noticed that two of the Juuyuushi followed him back when he was returning to the place where he kept Kyo's body. He didn't seem too frazzled by that, so I assume he probably let them follow him so that Yukimura will know where Kyo's body is and tell everyone else. And perhaps that means that the Juuyuushi tailing him might perhaps have gotten a glimpse of Suzaku and that they may possibly flashback on that scene when they meet Akira or something. For all I know the two bald-headed Juuyuushi that have recently been revealed may be those two who were tailing Akira, and we won't have to wait for the new Juuyuushi to show up, just for these two to meet Akira. It's a very (extremely) long stretch, but it might be possible. Then again, I may be completely wrong and the "Kamijyo-sensei just forgot her" option may really be possible, in which case all my speculating is wrong. :( (Which wouldn't be the first time actually... gotta love Kamijyo-sensei for being so unpredictable. :p)
So any takes on this? Comments, anyone?
