Relics

I visted Mum and Dad last week. Thye've been planning to move house, so they've been having a grand clear out. One of the boxes left for me so sort through had some of my childhood board games in.

There was a lovely complete set of Cludeo and Totopoly. Also the 'Game of Life' I bought as a teenager, via a small ad in the local paper. Most nostalgic were Monopoly and Battling Tops.

The Monopoly set is special not only because we played it so often but because somehow or other I lost all the houses and hotels. I can't think how I managed this but there you go. I cunningly substituted the two smallest sizes of lego brick. They were all still there in the box.

Battling Tops was an Xmas present from my older brother, Chris. When I opened it on Xmas morning, two of the tops had already been assembled. Chris had 'wanted to be sure that it worked' before he gave it me. That must have been thirty years ago, and I haven't forgotten it.
