Title: It’s Never Felt so Right

Warning: none, angsty, fluff

Pairing: Clint/Pepper

Notes: listening to Just a Kiss, make me feel romantic, and couldn’t think of a pairing in which i could be so overly romantic…..so i though Clint/Pepper because thanks to mightyarcher-hawkeye and pepperpotts, i think the couple is epic

Summary: lying here with you, so close to me, its hard to fight this feelings, when it feels so hard to breath, I’m caught up in this moment, I’m caught up in your smile

It has been a long day, for the both of them.

Sometimes, she wonders where she finds the strength to get up in the morning. It feels like the world never stops, it never stops and she is always rushing to stay ahead of it. She has to be in control, to make sure that everything works perfectly. She has never known what to do when things were not at her disposal, when she couldn’t clearly do something about. Every time such an event happens, it reminds her how fragile everything in life is.

He stares up at the ceiling, listening to her breathing. They lie together, just basking in the presence of the other. They just need this at the moment, companionship. Knowing that the other was there, just there, each other’s anchor.

Sometimes, he wonders where he finds the strength to get up in the morning. There is always a fight that needs to be fought, either to save the world or within his own mind. He thinks of his teammates and can’t help thinking why he stays around. The doubts cloud his mind and eat at his sanity; but when he closes his eyes at night, nothing is better. Memories resurface and suddenly, being awake or being asleep, nothing changes.

She sighs softly, shifting to kick her shoes off, before settling more comfortably on her bed. He does the same, kicking off his boots, wiggling his toes before falling still once again.

Sometimes, she wants to keep herself away. Perhaps it is better to keep her feelings locked away. It had been a lot better when she knew how to keep her feelings locked away, before everything became complicated. She got her heart broken once, twice, three times, but she finds herself unable to stop herself. Not when she lies next to him, like this, just like this. After a hard day at work, this moments, it gives her peace. It gives her the strength to get up in the morning

He sighs and tilts his head to the side, in order to catch a glimpse of the golden red hair, splayed upon the bed.

He knows he isn’t worthy of her. She with her caring heart, no matter how much she tries to keep professional. He knows that she fears another heart break, after the last one, the last one that he was a witness to. He knows how much it broke her, but he knows she is stronger. Between the two, she is the strongest. It is her that holds his heart in her hands, to weal, to break, to have in whatever way she wants. But he is fine with that, because lying with her, just the two of them, in the silence of the evening. It gives him the strength to get up in the morning.

She smiles softly, as she tilts her side to the side, her bright blue eyes connecting with his. She reaches up and gently caresses his cheek.

She knows that he is just as fragile as her. They have slowly and gently put each other together again. After having their hearts broken, by people they had loved dearly, they found each other. She learned that she could be strong and she hopes, that with time, he will learn that he is worth it all.

He gives her his trademark smile, just for her, eyes closing as he enjoys the feel of her hand on his cheek.
“Are you hungry? Do you just want to order out?” She mused, smiling softly, because he always made her smile.

“I think take out sounds great.”
