This looks like an amazing mix. I'm going to have to download it.

I know this post is kind of old but I was looking at your download tags and just found this. Nobody like NOBODY even knows who the heck Grant Lee Phillips is so I was really surprised and happy to see a couple of his songs on here. I saw him play 3x live -- once when Grant Lee Buffalo opened for REM and again when they opened for Smashing Pumpkins and then finally again after Paul left the band. I don't ever see GLP/GLB anywhere anymore.

They put on a good show, he has a lot of passion. I got a 12 string guitar because he plays one and you can't really play GLB songs and have them come out as nice unless you use a 12 string. He uses a dobro as well but I didn't get one of those though I thought about it. I do remember that they had an upside down American Flag on the drum kit or one of the amps at one of the concerts. their videos were pretty damn cool, too. Have you heard much Grant Lee Buffalo stuff?

Oh awesome! I wish I knew how to play any guitar. lol I've mostly heard Grant Lee Phillips stuff, unfortunately, but I'm sure the other stuff is good, too. :)

Oh gosh yes, it has a different feel to it but the songs are excellent. Their first album "Fuzzy" has a more upbeat feel than "Mighty Joe Moon" but I prefer MJM because it yielded some spectacular songs like Lone Star Song, Sing Along, Mockingbirds etc. And then there was Copperopolis. That trio of albums I just freaking love. They still have a website here:

My favorite of their songs is Lone Star Song. I found the video here, which is just so fantastic it brings me back to the 90's when I was pretty much obsessed with them ;)

Let me know what you think if you're able to listen to any of the songs. Some of GLB's songs just reduce me to putty and make me cry like a baby.

I still have Fuzzy and MJM on CD (who uses CD's anymore, right?) so if you find you want the songs and can't find them I'll rip them for you as long as the CD's will behave. They're pretty old;)
