Recap the weekend:
Friday, Jared interviewed with Docherty Agency and was offered a job as an assistant agent in the print division, which deals with modeling. Working with this group has been his dream for so long, so when he received the offer, he was so excited. We went out to Houlihan's to celebrate and just chit-chat. I'm so happy that things are working out for him the way he had hoped they would, and I know he will be an excellent attribute to their company.
After that, I went to Oakland b/c there were 2 parties going on there. Once I got there, I just wasn't in the partying mood. I went back and forth between the two houses but I just didn't want to be there, so I decided to just leave. Wes wanted to leave the party scene too, so we took the bus back together. We came back to campus and I decided to call it a night early and get ready for my Dad's visit on Saturday.
Saturday, I met my Dad and Stepmother downstairs with Jared and they took us out to lunch at The Hot Metal Grill in Southside. Lunch was really good, and my dad and Es really liked Jared, and vis-versa. I'm glad everyone was really getting along. We then walked on to 2010 Sarah Street, to show my dad the house I'll be living at this summer. On our way, we were passing Greb's Bakery, where Jared's mom used to go when she was young, so we decided to stop in for some cookies. After that small detour, we got to the house and my family met Andi, Jaime, and Katie. Spent some time there, then back to campus to show off the dorm and meet my friends. The day was really fun and I really enjoyed time with my dad.
My dad and Es headed off to the Pirate's game and I went to Primanti Bros. for dinner with Jared and Scott. Then we went to see The Visit at the playhouse with Kate. I was not a big fan of the show, but I'm glad I saw it. A bunch of us went out to Houlihan's again for food after the show and just hangout.
Sunday, I went to see HAIRSPRAY with Dad and Es. The show was absolutely amazing!!! I really enjoyed everything about it. I got some autographs after the show, then back to Squirrel Hill to visit with the family. Dad and I walked to Giant Eagle to get groceries, which surprisingly made me very, very happy! Real food is exciting!!! We then all went out to Minutello's for dinner, which was yummy, then we came back to campus and had to do our goodbyes. That was really tough because my dad and I are at a good place now and it was so hard to have him go again. I don't know for sure when I'll be seeing my family again because I'm staying here this summer, so the last hug and kiss was extremely difficult.
This weekend went by so fast, and I can't believe it's the last week of classes now. How did the semester go so fast?!?!? I look around my room and I see my home, not just a room. I'm gonna miss it very much and the people that have become my Point Park family.
