Next to last full day of work!

I just have to make it through this afternoon and tomorrow and then no more 8 hour days at SUIP EVER!

So even though I was wicked sad Tuesday at first, it turned into a great day.  I went home from work after 3 hours because I didn't feel well, but after sleeping for a few hours I felt fine.  Then I talked to my girlfriend (hehe) Steph and she went with me to Wal-Mart and assisted me in picking up my pictures because there was a roll I didn't want to look at.  Then I bought fun new exercise clothes and Steph and I are a quick dinner before we tried to go to our first tap dancing lessons at the Jewish Community Center.  Unfortunately, even though it's been advertised in the New Times all the time, it wasn't really happening.  Boo on that.  But Steph and I are troopers, so we went to a dance studio in the gym and danced on our own.

It was awesome and felt SO good to dance again.  We did some warm-ups and such...even though I'm not as flexible as I used to be, stuff came back easier than I thought it would...I can still do turns even!!! Dancing again is definetly a super happy thought of this week.  She taught me part of onr of the dances...my muscle memory isn't as good as it used to be, so I have to do it over and over again.  It's only a small part, but it's a start.

The we decided to invade Mike's house because he has a bigger tv than all of us.  Autumn, Erin, Steph and I all went over...we were going to make him watch Bridget Jones's Diary, but it was already late and we decided that was pretty mean of us :P First, we went to Peter's to get junk food because Erin's body (after being beaten up by band camp) was demanding ice cream.  I got super yummy cookies with yellow frosting and sprinkles.

My friends are funny.  We keep joking about that Fat Joe rap song, so we'll just randomly turn to each other and say "My nuts don't dance."  And the other person responds "I just pull up my pants).  It doesn't seem that funny when I try to explain it over LJ, but I promise it's HILARIOUS.  Also, Erin said something about having deja vu and Autumn said "Yeah, that's what happens when they re-load the matrix."  And we've been giving her shit about it ever since, haha.

When I got home, people on Redfield were having a party and being wicked loud.  I ended up staying up late and having an awesome phone call though so I made the best of it.

Wednesday at work I kept escaping the office to run errands...some of them actually for work, some of them for me.  When I was in Newhouse once for work, I sat down and chatted about career stuff with my faculty adviser.  He asked why I didn't like reporting anymore and I explained my issues with 564, which he said was common.  And we talked some about possibilities in producing and he gave me the names of two books to read.  One is on reporting and the other is on producing and he said reading both would give me an idea about both professions.  The producing one is actually the assigned one for my 565 class, so I picked that up at the bookstore and started reading it.  It's nice to be excited about journalism again.  If I end up getting back into reporting, that would be crazy.  Professor Lissit said he could tell I still had a real interest in the field and he'd kill me if I went into PR.  But I explained that my internship is going to be more than PR and that I'm trying to learn about non-profits in general, so he gave me less crap about that!

After work, Steph met me and we went to the gym.  We did some sit-ups and weights first and then went down to the studio to dance.  I pretty much have the portion of the dance down now...YAY!

We went to the mall and I tried to get a haircut, but they were all booked so I made an appointment for tonight.  I still haven't decided what I want..Steph's pushing for a super short pixie haircut (like the one Kirsten Dunst just got, but I'm not sure).  And I'm thinking of having her highlight it for me as well.

We went into Borders and looked at career books which was interesting/a little scary.  Steph ended up getting a book about finding the perfect job that had lots of good stuff, like a lot on interviews.  I looked at a book all about jobs in communications, but decided to hold off on buying anything until I go to some career stuff at school.  Steph and I are going to go together to Career Services stuff and I told her she should come to Newhouse CDC stuff with me too.  Yup, Steph and I are soooo grown up :)

Then I was bad when we went into Delia's.  They had these cute t-shirts on sale and I got two of them.  One I had seen someone wearing before and knew I HAD to have it : I <3 Nerds (only the heart actually goes the right way).  And I found another one that says I <3 Carbs with a food pyramid on it with only carbs.  Since I'm so anti-Atkins I got it too.  Then we just watched the Olympics at Steph's apartment for a bit and read questions out of her If book.  It has all these interesting questions like "If you could teach one person something, what would be it?" It was fun and interesting and made me think a lot...

I slept like a rock and I'm sore today from the weights and dancing, so I'm taking the day off from the gym! This morning I went into the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to meet my bosses and talk with them about what I'll be doing this semester.  I AM SO EXCITED! They seem like awesome people and I think I'm really going to like working there.  Mike told me everyday is different...exactly the kind of thing I want! I just wish I could work there more than Tuesday and Friday mornings.

Erin's my sugar momma...she's taken me to lunch twice this week with her band SUpercard money :) Only 2 more hours...and fun haircut time tonight!!
