For her first time out Lynn was really good. There were a few ... er ... "nervous" moments but she really warmed up after awhile. She just needs to get comfortable in her new starring role. And her voice brings a very nice new dynamic to the sound of the group as a whole.
Orla was fantastic as usual and much more bouncy then I have ever seen her! That was nice since she has a twinkle to her and it was very cool to see it manifest itself. Maybe she was making up for the fact that someone else was not being quite so bouncy for a change ...
Chloe has grown up before our eyes. Gone is the talented 15 year old. She has been replaced by a very glamorous, still incredibly talented 18 year old. What lies before that young woman in the future can only be imagined! Her voice and presence just gets better and better!
For the fact that she only had a small area to move around in, Mairead was her incredibly energetic self. I don't think she could be any less! She had the audience either on its feet or completely hushed. The voice that she can coax out of that fiddle is nothing short of magical.
Lisa had a deep red Grecian style gown with a jewelled-collar that she wore for the second act and when the spotlight hit her, those around me just gasped. I have never seen anything so drop-dead beautiful and so dramatic. It caused serious "oohs and aahs". I want that gown!
The sweetest moment of the evening was during the singing of "The Blessing" ...
and when you come to me
hand outstretched to the audience
and hold me close to you
Both arms opened wide
I bless you
one hand went over The Baby Bump
and you bless me, too
the other hand went over her heart.
...sob...whimper...le sigh...
It was a WONDERFUL evening with lots of standing ovations and an encore not listed on the program! I did not want it to end and I am still floating around!
And now I have to float back to work and reality...
