BLITEOTW 2009
Frankly.....zombies are boring. Don't get me wrong. I spent 2007 surviving and getting to the mothball fleet with a ragged bunch of survivors, aided by the ROTC crew in Davis and several bay area peeps. 2008 I didn't fare as well, getting bitten fairly early on and eventually turning the chemistry building into a raging inferno to save my soul and destroy a zombie horde attacking the building.
I'm kind of zombie survivor story'd out.
I propose, here and now, an alternate BLITEOTW. The zombie stories, as far as I'm concerned, have been done for the time being. The genre needs a break, as do our collective creative batteries. Let all new zombie posts be designated BLITEOTW-Z (Z standing for zombies, duh.)
This means that the rest of us, those of us fed up with zombies, need another threat. So, I pose 2 questions to you:
1) What should our new threat be? Aliens, robots, pod people, animal uprising, mass hysteria, secret societies, pirates, ninjas, cake-that-is-not-a-lie .....what?
2) When should BLITEOTW-? take place? I wish I'd thought of this a month ago and realized that the same tired theme would be played out once more. Can we pull it together in the next 6 hours? I doubt it. Perhaps, but I doubt it. If not tomorrow when? I nominate one of the following dates:
July 7th
August 16th
I picked each of those for a reason and I'll give brownie points to whomever figures out why, and what the relation to BLITEOTW-? would be.
So, take a minute, think about you preferred apocalypse and let me know what you think. Tell your friends, point them this way and let's do something fun again.
