In retrospect I should gone with playing Guitar Hero. Instead I was forced to go see Babel which in my opinion was boring beyond all belief!! I haven't waited for a movie to be over in the longest time. I sat through Kenneth Branagh's 4 hour version of Hamlet, I watched all 3 Back to the Future movies back to back to back - 6 hours in a theater - and never have I felt the time pass so slowly watching a movie. It's as if time stood still to personally punish me for some bad karma from a previous life!! (Yes, dramatic much, but I'm trying to get my point across how much I did not like this movie.) If I had my cell phone or iPod on me I would have been making calls or listening to music. Anything! The boredom was just painful. I guess it's my fault - apparently saying "I have no desire to see that movie what so ever!" wasn't clear enough. Next time I'll use a baseball bat for emphasis.
Hey, I'm sure there are people out there who loved it. But I knew going in that it wasn't my type of movie and I am so very rarely wrong when I say that.
Angel, of course, enjoy the movie.
He and I are currently at odds.
Bah!
On the upside I had a lot of fun visiting with Anya! We had lunch date with Giles and then we went off on our errands for the day. Which involved guys flirting with her, one while apartment hunting and the guy at the hardware store. Hey, he gave her a discount on some hardware. Which was a nice thing to get a discount on!:)
We finished painting her kitchen which is now a brightly clean sunny yellow with white trim. Happyness. We played music, sang, painted, cursed people who paint over hinges and handles (okay that last part may be me - why oh why do people do that!?!? Just unscrew the damn hinges and knobs it's so simple when not covered IN LAYERS OF PAINT!!! Okay, one of my little peeves there.)
Anyway, we finished off with some Chinese food for dinner and promptly fell asleep watching Avatar. Hmmm, guess we were more tired then we knew. But hey we were so damn productive!!! Finished off her kitchen in less than a day and had everything hanging back up again. Productivity is the keyword!:)
Sunday was brunch (ooh fancy - at a hotel even) with Buffy that involved waffles and eggs and a chocolate fountain (where I decided to have dessert first since the night before we were so tired we never got off the couch to get dessert).
We all went back to Anya spiffy new kitchen (we finished hanging up the dry cabinet doors) and listen to more music and talked about books. As Anya said it was neat, like we had just stopped in for a visit as opposed to me driving 3 hours to get there. I drove Buffy home - something about some important football games that afternoon? Whatever whatever!:) Saw Giles again and Riley, ate some appetizers and then headed off on my long trip home.
Sum up:
Babel = BAD
Dessert should be first.
Seeing my girlys' = AWESOME!
OH and the kittys did miss me! They actually curled up on either side of me on the couch when I got home on Sunday. Normally it's the whole "you left us/betrayed us/abandoned us" thing going on. Not this time. I was snuggled up to right away!! :)
