Sad:
Much sadness for Jayne and his family on Monday. He's puppy of 13 years had to be put to sleep. He'd been acting sluggish and not eating much for the past few days. Seems tumors on the spleen and in liver will do that. Must have had it for a while, but up until last week he hadn't behaved differently.
Barney's probably romping around in doggie heaven enjoying the perfect weather, chasing small animals, and getting belly scratches!
Hopeful:
Warm wishes and good thoughts to Anya's Mommy whose going into surgery today. As irony would have it she'll be at the same hospital where my Grandma is headed to today as well. Grandma's getting a new pacemaker as hers recently went into "failure mode". I would have thought this was a big deal but apparently not so much in that the doctor scheduled the surgery a week later. This is also an in/out surgery and she'll be home later today. Who knew that this was considered a one day procedure?
Sending good thoughts out to both these lovely ladies.
And I'll leave you with a funny:
Before game chat last night had Andrew talking about his recent CAT scan and having to drink the Barium (which also lead to another comment that Warren said which broke my brain and I will NEVER EVER forgive him for. Must bleach brain!!!). The doctors told him that he would feel warm and a bit flushed but that it was normal. Well he started to panic as he did indeed get warm and flushed and tingly but only his boy part region (yes, I said "boy parts") it quickly turned to burning and the feeling that his boy parts were on fire! Now I can see as that would be an uncomfortable and panicky feeling for a guy. Now what really makes this story was that when Xander finally arrived (he had missed this story) he randomly starts talking about he had an CAT scan done last week... which has us all immediately laughing knowing where this story is going. By the time he gets to the part where he says ".. the doctor lied! I didn't feel warm and felt like my [boy parts] were on FIRE!!!! And that's not normal!!!" We were rolling with laughter and tears in our eyes. As we gasp out that Andrew just said that exact same thing!
So for all you guys out there, if you ever get one and the doctor says you'll feel slightly warm & flush. You'll know better and can look them in the eye and call them liars!:)
