True Blood Day 4

Sep 20, 2010 10:19

Alrighty, so I finished Season 1 of True Blood.

I'll try not to give anything away for people who haven't seen it but want to.

1) Jason, Jason, Jason... you must have a guardian angel because the description dumber than a bag of rocks is insulting to the rocks.

2) Jason's Organic Vegan Girlfriend from CT  - I have to ask if the Superiority Complex that Vegan's have is also some sort of cliche? Because I've been told by a Southern Girl that cliches are such for a reason and that True Blood is actually a tame version of what it can be like down South. Because wow. Talk about a switch flipping personality!

3) Bill is even a bigger Jerk than I thought. He knows what happens to vampires when staked. He stakes one who is choking Sookie.  Did it ever occur to him that instead of then standing there to watch that he could gee, I don't know pull the vampire away from her? Throw it away from her as it died? I think seeing as what happens it would be the considerate thing to do. The other 2 vamps standing there to watch I can perfectly understand why they did. Mr. I-will-protect-you.... not so much. Ass hat. Southern Gentleman Vampire my ass! "I promised your Grandma I wouldn't keep you out late, but you are on your own with staked Vampire."

4) So I was right about who the killer was. I don't think I would have gotten it on my own. I just based it on who I thought Xander would like and would be disappointed was the killer. It was a little random. I mean I get the motivation but the odd killing that was clearly an accident (and everyone did know that so it's not a big spoiler) really could have been avoided. But I guess if you go with serial killers aren't necessarily sane then sure I guess it could have happened. You'd just think that if the person you wanted to kill wasn't there you wouldn't just kill the person that was there when you certainly could have just left.  Especially since it's not an odd thing that someone else might have been there. And the last killing didn't even make sense as far as the Killer's motives. Or maybe he just assumed that the last victim was the same as the others? (That vagueness was brought to you in consideration of Zoe who said she wants to watch the show.)

5) Lafayette! You look quite nice cleaned up. Well done sir. And being gay does not mean he can't kick your ass. Are you blind you dumb hicks, have you seen the arms on that man alone?

6) Sam. Yeah, I suspected that about you - but I have to believe everyone did. It was rather obvious. Though still funny.

7) It was refreshing that Sookie pretty much saved herself there at the end, with a little help. And though Bill gets point for trying, he was the epitome of useless there. The entire time Roommate (yes, she ended up watching pretty much the rest with me.) and I were saying "What are you doing? You aren't even going to make it to help her you dumbass!"

So to sum up this isn't something I would have watched as it aired and if it wasn't for the fact that there isn't much on TV right now and that I could watch the whole season at once otherwise it wouldn't compel me to come back every week. There was a lot boring parts (to me) in the episodes that I could skim over because I was multi-tasking while watching the show. And having Roomie there to mock it with me made it more entertaining. Yes, there were certain characters that I was interested in and did pay attention when they were on screen but it's sad that the two leads weren't them - what does that say about a show? As Xander has the second season I may watch it. Though it would be ideal if the 3 of us could watch it and make fun of it together. But if he forgets to lend me the season 2 dvds I doubt I'll bug him all that much either to bring them over.
