Weekend of Multi-tasking Madness!
Well, I'm not quite a god but if I can finish all this off by Thursday I'll be pretty impressed.
With the rain *finally* stopping on Friday I was able to spray paint basecoats on 2 signs, before my (relatively) last minute guest of Riley showed up for the weekend.
Then it was a lovely dinner out with me drunk on 1/2 a White Russian. That's what happens when all you've eaten that entire day is a tuna sandwich at lunch time. By 8pm you get a wee bit hungry. Thankfully by the time the second one showed up (gee thanks for ordering me another one) there at least were some appetizers on the table! :)
Whee!!!
Saturday was a walk, some breakfast, hanging out, mini-golf, comic book reading for Riley, while I painted some more signs, and then Wes showed up in time for the 3 of us to make grocery store run (Exciting Saturday evening grocery runs - nothing like those for a bunch of wild people like us!), then dinner was made, their might have been more drinking (but not me this time) and the hilarity of playing Rockband.
A few points about that:
It was unfortunate that Xander didn't join us because Riley was in diva form. And watching the 2 of them yell out "I am the band" would have been awesome to behold.
Riley it turns out is actually a pretty good singer and should not be singing on 'easy'. He totally pulled a Willow on that one "oh, I'm not that good' "LIAR!"
Wes sings in time so much better after he drinks a bottle of wine. He actually catches up the words and loosens up. Again, a sight to behold.
Dawn, you so should have been there. I'm sad you couldn't come out. :(
I think we finally called it a night around 3am.
Both gentleman stayed the night as Wes & I had Shadowrun on Sunday at it was silly for him to drive all the way back home only to head back up the next day.
Unfortunately living the Rockstar life is difficult for some folks and some people got up rather late on Sunday. So no waffle breakfast was had. Sadness :(
Riley headed back home and Wes & I went to Jayne & Saffrons for Shadowrun. Xander was displeased that we arrived late - but hey, Rockstar life!!
I think we managed pretty well though. Got the main mission and 2 mini missions done. The last one was especially hilarious as we needed to take care of some punk gang kid who was calling out our Troll (Wes). It was late and we weren't going to have time for that mission, I really wanted to do it though, but Wes needed Jayne's help with some stuff for the SKRF. So I told Xander that Saffron and I can deal with it ourselves. He said it would be a fight on par with the first mini-mission we had just finished, but I figured we could handle it because for that mission we effectively down 2 people (one was in the hospital & the second got controlled) and we still handled it without too much trouble.
Plus Saffron is all about killing people/blowing things up which is what the job required.
Me: Okay, we ride up on our bikes and circle the block seeing if he's there.
Xander: On your first pass through, you see him surrounded by a couple of other gang members.
Saffron: We could do a drive by?
Me: Yeah, just aim for him, don't get any of the other guys unless they are dumb enough to try and attack us.
Saffron: Should we stop the bikes?
Me: Just to make sure we don't miss
Saffron: But we keep the bikes running.
Me: Of course, no need to turn them off
Xander: *blink blink* Yeah..that would work....
Me: Okay, on the second drive time around we stop our bikes and look at him.
Xander: A couple of guys come over and start making comments about you ladies.
Me: Hey Pinhead!
Xander: He looks at you and says "me?"
Me: Bang.
Saffron: Bang
Me: Bang
Xander: *looking at the guy's stats then just tossing his card away" He's falls over dead & his friends are shocked and attempt to pull out weapons.
Saffron: We drive off.
Me: Handled.
Xander just kept blinking and then said later how sometimes the players over-think plans and go crazy but in this case he freely admitted that he as the GM over-thunk it.
The whole planning & execution took 5 minutes. We then got up and went outside to where Jayne & Wes were and told them it was all taken care of. Done & done! :)
