Vampires & Zombies.... Oh My!

The Twilight phenomenon travels far and wide. Anya has been speed reading through the books and has passed 2 so far onto Buffy  getting her hooked.

She burned through the first one and is halfway done with the second and insisted I read it. I read about a page and half on Friday night and fell asleep. About 24 hours later I find myself and Buffy in the theater watching the movie. I've either watched a movie before or after I've read the book, never during. And seeing how I only read a page and half and the movie had narration it was rather strange to have clear memories of passages being spoken in the movie verbatim.

I can see how Twilight can make all the girls swoony, it's such a teeny-bopper romantic angst fest. Ah...Edward/Cedric you are a cutie I'll give you that, but do get over your self boy!  And do something about that gravity defying hair, my goodness how is it that vampires use so much hair care product?

So far Bella doesn't impress me but that's because she's such a victim, I'm really hoping that changes. Least I don't have to wait for all the books to come out. With any luck there will be some character growth so I won't have to throw it against a wall.

Parts of the movie made me giggle. Sparkling in the sunlight! SPARKLING?!?! I knew about the sparkling going in, heck I know about other plot points - have a chat sometime with Xander about his Sister's fascination with the books - but other stuff I used my clever brain to figure out. "Hey, is that guy a werewolf?"

I did like the baseball scene, until all the growling took place - then it got silly.

Considering I made it through "Peony in Love" and that book was very hard on me, I'll give this one a shot. I know Anya's loving it. :)

And in "I Never Saw That Coming Moment" Buffy asked me about Left 4 Dead. She was curious about me playing it and as she hasn't really ever played any computer/online games she liked the fact that this one was scenario based. She figures she could commit an hour every now and again as opposed to the rigors of MMORPGs.

Who know, maybe Buffy and I can get out there and kill some zombies together. I admit I would totally get a kick out of that! :)
