Yeah, so anyone miss me?
I haven't posted in over a week. Wish I could say I was on some fantabulous vacation getaway but alas no. Just not feeling well which wasn't conducive to really posting.
But all better now, a little worse for wear, but ready to tackle the New Year.
First off - I don't do stinkin' New Year's Resolutions. They're just something you break within the first month and feel guilty about for the rest of the year. Saying that coincidentally I ended up with some New Year's promises. Both were just based on the fact that it was a notable date that could be use for keeping track.
1) I promised Xander that I wouldn't bring up a conversation anymore. And so far...36 hours and 14 minutes I've still kept it. If he brings it up that's his fault. Me I'm done and even got in a last minute shot before the bell struck midnight. So I'm all good! :)
2) Watching a video of me sing Copa Cabana (very badly as I knew I would - which oddly wasn't the issues) karaoke style on New Years (ah digital camera's with video capability. You can immediately watch your embarrassments!) had me thinking I could stand to lose a little weight. I did not like that I was looking a wee bit chunky. I tend to go up and down 10 pounds - but I think it's time I really did something to keep the weight down. Plus looking at Darla, that skinny beyotch, made me feel even more chunky! Seriously though I love her and think she's quite a hottie! ;)
Had a nice Xmas shindig down in Fishkill. The usual suspects gathered for our Xmas get together. There were some surprise arrivals (though I knew that Willow would make it. I had confidence.) and it's still weird hanging out in a bar with Connor. 21 already. Time do fly! Have fun in London boyo!!:)
That was followed by Xmas with the family, which due the kindness of my heart (and the pathetic-ness of hearing that Xander didn't have anything to do on Xmas Eve) I invited him to my folks for the evening. He got along well and it wasn't long before he, my brother, and my cousin were all calling each other names and the threats of taking someone outside for a beating was well under way. I'm so never inviting him again!:)
This leads into realizing once again (we go through this every couple of years) that Xander and I are spending way too much time together.
Up at Buffy's for New Years and an entertaining game of
Electronic Catchphrase (a game Buffy got for Xmas.) had us way too much on the same wavelength for our own good.
Xander: Some people say my apartment is like this:
Me: A pigsty!
Xander: *making lip smacking anger noise while passing the toy* Yes.
Me: Score!
Then later:
Me: This guy made something that killed a lot of people, felt guilty about it, and then gave a bunch of money for this.
Xander: Nobel Prize Award
Me: *throwing the toy* YES!
Had a lovely time for New Year's considering that the plans changed so dramatically in less than a week. Giles sick with a 102 fever (poor guy is contagious and told to avoid people for a week. Seems he caught something on a flight back from seeing his family in Chicago) and both Buffy & Anya's sitters canceling out. Buffy came to the rescue by having the pre-party at her house which meant kids were invited so I got to see most of my Girlies.
To make this weekend longer we also had our Deadlands game. We've managed to play 8 sessions this year. We were aiming for once a month (but quickly realize that June is hell so that was canceled almost immediately) other than that there were only 2 canceled for last minute busy-ness and once for drunk GM ;) Not bad for a geek year in review.
Oh yes, and I can not end this without saying bestest brother ever got me Guitar Hero 3 for Xmas and insisted that I bring my playstation over so he could play it. I was nice and let him use the guitar and once again used the controller myself. I really do need a second guitar!
Glad I got to see all my friends for the holidays and I really thank you all for the fun times and awesome presents! That should keep me entertained for some time.
And yes, it's time for Louli Rabbit to dust off her big girl pants and get a job. It's been a fun run. I got to do a lot of things with my time off. Not as much as I originally had plan. But such is life, throwing a wrench into the fun times. But I gotta start making some money for the next time I get a chance to become unemployed again. ;)
