We have some points which we feel you have neglected to think about in your post.
1)not everyone who smokes reaches enlightenment and then what do you have...you have smoked but no enlightenment
b)we realized not everytime you smoke you smoke for enlightenment
III)you have had eye opening travel so why do you need to smoke to reach enlightenment
4)life isn't over...monks and such spend several hundred lifetimes reaching enlightenment
5)who is to say we both haven't already attained our own enlightenment and who is to say that we won't without smoking
f)how do you know that by smoking you have reached enlightenment...what if you are actually blinding yourself from actual enlightenment
VII)wouldn't an enlightened person be accepting of others values and choices
8)its not a spiritual enlightenment...its a forced one
9)if infact you didn't mean enlightenment but rather just a way to escape reality...we can see this...but we don't choose to use the same methods as you to escape reality...we have puzzles(despite kate's problems with getting the right pieces to fit together)
this is in no way a statement that is saying Kate and I hate you and for that matter anyone else who does drugs...we just felt like you were personally attacking us and others who choose not to do those types of drugs

I'm gonna try to respond to these a bit so I don't come off like a total idiot...

1)not everyone who smokes reaches enlightenment and then what do you have...you have smoked but no enlightenment
as I say, no promises, but it doesn't seem like giving it a try could hurt.
b)we realized not everytime you smoke you smoke for enlightenment
that's true, and I think a lot of people are smoking weed just for fun, which I fully support. that's their choice, but I'm trying to encourage its use to gain understanding of the world, not as a fun escape from it.
III)you have had eye opening travel so why do you need to smoke to reach enlightenment
as I've already told you, I'm not smoking as much at this point because I don't feel I'm learning as much from it anymore. my personal preference is besides the point though, because I address most of my explanation to the non-smoker, not the former smoker.
4)life isn't over...monks and such spend several hundred lifetimes reaching enlightenment
okay, that's more of a theological debate than I was looking for. Personally, I don't believe that to be true.
5)who is to say we both haven't already attained our own enlightenment and who is to say that we won't without smoking
If you feel enlightened, more power to you... bear in mind that my post wasn't addressed strictly to you two.
f)how do you know that by smoking you have reached enlightenment...what if you are actually blinding yourself from actual enlightenment
If you re-read my post, you'll find I never claim that smoking weed is going to enlighten anybody. I feel that it can help a person onto the path. So I don't really know how smoking would blind a person from enlightenment, because after all, it's a temporary sensation.
VII)wouldn't an enlightened person be accepting of others values and choices
I never claimed to be enlightened :D I'm not as best I can tell. I wish i was more accepting, but I'd also like to be truthful if I can.
8)its not a spiritual enlightenment...its a forced one
This goes back to the fact that I'm not claiming smoking will enlighten you. Meditation is an act practiced to expand the mind and encourage wider thought. Drugs can be used (much less effectively) in the same way.
9)if infact you didn't mean enlightenment but rather just a way to escape reality...we can see this...but we don't choose to use the same methods as you to escape reality...we have puzzles(despite kate's problems with getting the right pieces to fit together)
I agree that puzzles are very cool. I'm not talking about drugs as a way to escape reality, although a lot of people seem to turn to them for that purpose.
