Got to be on opposite sides of some lopsided games last week. The Animals was a good one as we had a bit more of a complete lineup, so everything clicked very well. Got lots of PP time and the chance to really crash the crease and do a lot of the bruntwork and tie up some defensemen. I didn't pick up any points, but I definitely screens the goalie on a couple of goals, which is what I need to do.
The Bastones game was a tough one to get through; not only is the team actually from a higher division, but on my 3rd or 4th shift I got absolutely hammered in the offensive zone. Their defenseman coming around the net caught me in the head with either his elbow or shoulder and I pretty much flew halfway across the ice and into the boards hard. My shoulder is actually still sore from that, and I was woozy for a while too, but I managed to finish the game. They were a big, fast team though, and they were definitely taking their liberties with us. I slashed the defenseman from earlier in the back of the shins when he tried and push me out of the blue paint. I'm surprised I didn't get a penalty too, I did it right in front of the ref.
Shoulder is still quite sore, so let's hope it's better in time for the next game on Thursday. It's vs Evolution, who are the team that knocked us out of the playoffs last year, so I'd like a measure of revenge.
