In recent news- there is no recent news!

I know it's been a week since I posted, but I'm at home slacking off for that week... However, in a preview;
my next long post will be about Rights vs. Duty. I'm hoping for an interesting discussion on this one!
In the mean time I thought I'd post a few quickies and a few links to some of the publications I read in case you are interested in seeing where I learn about recent issues.

First, from Sept. 2009 Car and Driver (written in by Thatcher Richins):

There was this company
of freeboaters,
Who called themselves General Motors,
Bankruptcy they found,
Hell they are bound,
And they remain a bunch
of gloaters.

Pretty great, eh? Now for some links

Politico- a website that features exclusively political articles. Some are good, some are obviously pandering, and ALL of the comments are posted by clinically insane conspiracy theorists. http://www.politico.com/

The New Republic- same as above. The one difference is that TNR has articles from all sorts of lobbyists that range from mildly interesting to positively outrageous.

Pro Publica- "journalism in the public interest" is a news outlet for and about government watchdogs. Some very good articles and pertinent information that most 'mainstream media' won't cover.
http://www.propublica.org/

Ars Technica- This is a website that caters to computer nerds, but they go beyond posting the latest technical advances- they also write about laws, treaties, impact of certain types of technology on society, and legal issues in the tech community. The articles are always interesting and well written.

There are many more, but I'll save them for later. In the meantime, enjoy!
