If you want to know why independents (small i on purpose, as I am NOT part of the Independent party) like me don't want "medical malpractice insurance reform" as part of the health care, it's a fairly simple answer... The reason is that the last time such "reform" was brought up there was also an issue of constitutionality- just like there is about general health care reform today. The issue at that time was the Bush administration's sweetheart deal with medical device makers that granted them immunity from civil lawsuits- thus rendering the assertion "equal redress under the law" null and void... And from thus stems our concern for another of the Republican's ideas of "reform". Once bitten twice shy as the saying goes!
