Please no more needles.
So today was a pretty rough day. I had to be tested for Allergys because Even after getting my tonsils out i still get a lot of ear infections and sinus infections.....
Allergy Testing is probably one of the most aggrivating experiences of my life.
So they have u flip ur arms over and do the majority of the testing on ur inner forearms....u know that INSANLEY sensitive skin. They put a set of purple dots down your arm and then on either side of the dots they put drops of various allergens such as "Dust Mites" "Cat" "Dog" "Feathers" "Ragweed" "Pollen" Etc. down both arms... They then proceed to take these small needles and prick/scratch the centers of them....so that the allergen gets under ur skin. Now they did this to me twenty four times between both arms.
If you are allergic to whatever they pricked you with then u get an extremley ITCHY bump--which ends up being red and raised. And for kicks one of the things that they prick u with is HISTAMINE. Histamine is what ur body gives off that makes u have reactions when you are allergic.
Well anyone taht has ever seen my blothes that i get when nervous, hot, excited, drunk or embaressed...>CAN IMAGINE WHAT MY ARMS LOOKED LIKE AFTER 24 scratch pricks.....the nurse was having an insanley difficult time deciphering between alleric reactions and sensitive skin.
So after that they take that same pen and mark ur arm 6 times on ur bicep and give u 5 needles on one side....6 on the other....ACTUAL needles of more allergens.
Then after all of that fun stuff....they determined i was only allergic to dust mites so that wasnt any indicator why i still get sick....the dr said she was going to do an IMMUNE test although she doubted it was that.
I then had to drive to another hospital and give two tubes of blood.
SO TIRED.
