Not entirely dead
Indeed Tumblr has eaten me alive in many ways -see my page here - but I have not entirely strayed away from the merry lands of livejournal. At least according to my bank statements, I'm still paying for this, so I really ought to pay more attention :)
Lets see, new things, different things....
Haven't been writing much, unfortunately, but I'm working on a new original story idea which is kind of exciting. Those don't pop into my head very often -i'm a fanfic person at heart, I'll admit it- but it'll be interesting to see where this idea is going to go. I got a new little faux-moleskin notebook dedicated solely to this endeavor, let us hope I can keep my focus long enough to actually get this bad boy out and down on paper.
New things, new things.... X-Men: first class is awesome. Slenderman mythos has also decided to crop up in my life here. Binged through the marblehornets account on you tube like a crazy person in about two nights of carefully, well-lit watching. It definitely reminds me of the same drama and tension of good Japanese Horror games (think Fatal Frame, or if I'm to be extremely generous, Silent Hill) in that the medium of the camera is just as important as the characters we're introduced to. It fritzes out ala the radio in say Silent Hill 2 that lets James know something is coming. The 'villains' are seen more often in the periphery rather than head on, and when you do see them so obviously it's never usually a good thing. If you haven't seen it and have the nerve for that sort of tension-laden stuff, go for it! I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was and how I'm now restlessly awaiting a new update!
Tonight I go see Killer Elite, happiness abounds for going out for a nice stiff drink and then with my wobbly vision going to go see massive amounts of improbable action. Booze and explosions, huzzah!
