For
hobbitdragon who's art that I ADORE again was recently rediscovered and hope that this doll I made is enjoyed! It was one of those things where I found the artwork of the incubi character at 3am and dreamt about him all night long. Not like that. Just, the theory and the beauty of it, this was art I wished I'd been assigned in school because wow, the words I could string about the stories that these images tell :O Dude. So anyway, I woke up ENERGIZED with the urge to make one for my own because I selfishly wanted to coddle such an awesome character, and also I wanted to see if I could go beyond the general ginger-bread-man shape that I'd been working with thus far. (Pictures are with my phone, so not the best, but camera remains uncooperative)
Please do go see the original artwork and story
here!!!
He was made with felt, regular toy stuffing, a (miraculously found perfect for the feather-look) scarf, wire running from neck to ankles, and wire in the hands for movable/pose-friendly fingers. The hair was a faux-hair fall from a beauty supply store that I sewed on along the elastic line upon the inside of the hairpiece.
That's a fifteen-inch artist's ruler for size reference~
