Last week I was in Brisbane and it was a blast! Saw all my favourite people minus a one Katie Nugent, but that's alright because I see every night in my dreams. I went to Tegan's farewell party at the Gabba and caught up with old friends. It's really thrilling to hear what my friends have been up to since I saw them, hearing the news, gossip and all that crap, who broke up with who, who hooked up with who.. it's all trivia to me but entertaining nevertheless. Headed off to Alhambra where my night changed from good to slightly weird and disappointing. I don't know what it was but I just got the massive vibe that everyone suddenly became too good for each other. I couldn't even hold a 30 second conversation with old friends, it seemed as though they've downgraded me to an acquaintance of a friend of a friend. Some even just gave me the cold shoulder all night even when I tried to come close to say hello. I don't even know what I did considering I haven't seen them in over a year or two?! I'll just let them wallow in their own world I guess. Other than that, it was a highlight seeing Majella and Ash and reminiscing about those good ol' night at 299 and dancing like Hitler when 99 Red Balloons was played.

The rest of my time up there was either spent sleeping or nursing a hangover. My little bother's birthday was a success and I'm so glad I got the chance to get drunk with him, for the first time in his adult life. I also fell "in love" with a girl who worked at Ric's. I use the words "in love" loosely to describe my deep infatuation haha. Her name's Jess. Go say hi to her and tell her I love her if you ever go to Ric's. Tuesday night went to Alibi and partied with the boys... somehow ended up very drunk and going to the Casino and then watching Vinnie bust $200 bucks in 5 minutes at a blackjack table. What was that all about?! Woke up around midday to get ready for my flight back home with a killer hangover and a throbbing headache.

I might come up this weekend coming to surprise my mum for Mother's Day. I feel like I owe it to her to be there. Next Sunday marks my first year living in Melbourne. Time goes so fast doesn't it?!

Shauna, I'll be in New York in mid September for a week and a bit. Let's catch up?! Maybe we can see a gig if there are any good bands playing? Hopefully you won't be in Georgia. If you can't make it to NYC then I'm willing to Greyhound it up to your Gilmore Girls town and say hello. You were the one who gave me a link to the Sartorialist over AIM years ago and apparently he's in town and I'm going to a party down the street to meet him in an hour. I can already see a tsunami of fashionistas in black walking over to the bar down the street from my window. Hoping there's free grog and smashing babes yeahhhhhhh!!
