"it starts" -- Timon

First off, I'd like to share my horoscope
"You might feel a little disorganized right now, LOUIE. Your mind could be buzzing from one subject to the next, and you could feel a bit overwhelmed. Don't try to do everything at once. If you can postpone deadlines for work projects, you'll benefit from the extra time. Create room in your schedule so that you will have time to get your head together. Environmental concerns such as allergies, noise, or temperature problems could be creating some of the problem."

I find it funny that every once in a while, my horoscope seems dead on. I'm starting my new job at Bel Air tomorrow. Plus, I've decided to change my class schedule a bit, dropping one class and taking up a different one. Basically, I'll be taking Humanities on Tues nights instead of an Eng course early Mon and Wed mornings. I'll get more sleep from it, and it'll spread out my schedule a bit.

About my job, I'm night crew which is from 11:30pm to 8am. Yes, awkward hours for the normal. However, they want to start scheduling me day shifts soon after I begin, so I anticipate that I'll be on night crew for a month or two before being a regular day clerk. I'll have a regular sleep pattern, as opposed to my offset hours I'm about to encounter. I went through orientation on Friday (kinda boring :P) and can't wait to actually work. I'll be cutting back on INO hours in about a month (not that I have a bunch there anyways) -- I'll be waiting to get my level 5. If I cut on hours, my store manager might not want to give me that extra 75 cent raise, thinking that I won't be there enough. I had two check lists last week, both passing, and would like to up my pay, thank you very much. Once that happens, I'll cut my hours by a day or two so that I have more time to sleep and do homework. As of now, I've set things up so that Sunday night and Tuesday night I can get all the sleep in the world. And with a schedule like mine this semester, I'll take all the sleep I can get.

Basically, I'll have class Monday morning/night, leaving me all the time in between to look over my notes and get ahead on homework. The same goes for Wednesday. On Tuesday night, I'll have a class as well.
I'll work at BelAir Sun, Tues, Thurs, Fri, and Sat (these days listed are the days that I'll finish at 8am. ex: Sun means I'll start work Sat night, and end Sun morn). INO will be on the days I don't go to school, and after my level 5 or my change in hours at Bel Air (which ever comes first), I'll cut those hours to Thurs, Fri, Sun and having shorter shifts.

I charted it all out to make sure everything will fit in school, sleep, work, and even naps. The first month will be a bit more tough, but everything works out. It's a bit refreshing starting out the new year with a new job, semester, apartment, car -- it gives a person energy. When I start something new, or get something new, it feels like I start afresh, which is especially helpful when under stress. Last semester was a stress haven. Some say I'm putting myself into a position where I'll get even more stress. I disagree. With the new setting, new job which is more reliable, a new place where it's quiet and relaxing, different car with better gas mileage, different campus for school, new classes... it's just that feeling that I described above. Refreshing and eager to get shit done. Plus, I'm saving on minutes being with Kasie :-P. It's a true destresser living together. The only problems we've encountered are with our roommate, who will be gone next month due to divine intervention by a very merciful God (LOL). She's not the devil, our roommate, but she drives me insane. One more "poor me" saga and I'll be surprised if I don't change the locks and forget to tell her.

Bottom line is, I'm excited to be where I am right now, and glad to start everything tomorrow. I'm sure I won't write that often until about late February. Things will be very busy, and I'll do my best to take a minute to sit down and write a brief journal entry.

BUT, I have to go to bed so that I have enough energy tomorrow.

P.S. We finally got cable! That was one of my goals, so it's off the list now! Yay for football and the food network
