Enneagram is useful shorthand, whether you love it or hate it. (And if you hate it, at least say WHY, huh?) So, here's some questions from an 8 looking to understand you better. You are welcome to comment anonymously if you prefer.

1) What is your enneagram type? (if you know it)
2) What is your conception of weakness and how do you respond when ( Read more... )

1) 9 with a nascent 8 wing.

2) hmm. I think of it as a lack of self-awareness and integrity. As in, everyone has weaknesses but people who I consider to be categorically weak are those who have no knowledge of themselves and so reproduce those weaknesses at every turn, or refuse to stand for their whole selves, even the bad parts. Needless to say, when confronted with these people, I get cranky. Life makes me cranky.

3) I would, both realistically and pragmatically, prefer to collaborate in survival situations. It's not always the best empirical choice, depending on who else is around, but those types of situations always benefit from more than one mind.

4) No, not really. It might make me less begrudging, though.

5) If someone were Special enough I might let them take the reins. But I would be fucking cranky about it. I don't mind taking orders all the time, but I'd like some choice in the matter.

I don't understand my results. Apparently, a low score is a "high" score on this test. It must be official, as it came from an "Institute" with a very keen looking logo.

ummm... high scores are high scores. there's nothing weird about the scoring... i suggest you take the Quest Test at enneagraminstitute.com which will narrow it down a bit, and then you should read in more depth about the narrowed options.

The last, and only, personality test result that interested me was that dang Meyers-Briggs. And I think that was just because I was an INTP, and it was some big deal to be an INTP, because even though we were like 2 percent of the population (ostensibly), they were the only ones you ever met, and they had special web communities and stuff. But it was a quick-lived fascination, because it didn't help me find "my people," as other INTPs weren't all they were cracked up to be. And plus, the second time I took the test I was an INTJ, and the third time, something else (the "I" component never changed though ( ... )

No, scratch that, I'd get totally sick of being the follower after a few days of wood-gathering and monster-looking-out-for.
