Why do I get so impatient?
When I send an email or text message and don't get a response within five minutes, I start getting irritated. Even though I don't always have time or internet access to respond immediately myself. Of course, it depends on who and when I've sent the message. My impatience kicks in sooner for people like myself that spend a good portion of their day on a PC and/or have messaging/email capability from their phones. Somewhat more relaxed about it with people that have internet access only from home, but even with them, more than 24 hours goes by and I start questioning whether my message or their response vanished into some electron graveyard.
Do any of you feel the same way? Is it a result of our ever increasing connectivity, the video on demand, instant gratification, "Daddy, I want it NOW!" nature of modern life? Or is it just one of my own little quirks? (be nice!)
