Well, I'm in Ottawa! I haven't moved to Ottawa yet, but I am currently in Ottawa right now. I spent the day doing errands around town and got my internet/tv/home phone set up for the new apartment and I bought a cell phone! The phone/internet/tv won't be installed until the Saturday following our move in day but at least we have a cell phone if we need to call someone or order pizza or whatever.
I'm really excited about moving. I'm a little worried about all the work that will be involved actually lugging everything around and setting everything up. I have a bunch of stuff from the house (Victoria street house) that is in storage and then all the stuff from the apartment and then the furniture that we're getting from my grandmother that is currently in my parents' dining room.... I'm concerned about the logistics about mushing all those things into one apartment. It won't be a matter of just simply opening and unpacking boxes but really screwing around with things and organizing them for the first time. It will be interesting but it won't be easy and it won't be fast.
My parents and I went to see the World's Best Commercials 2008 which was playing at the Bytowne last night. Being at the theatre made me really look forward to moving to Ottawa because that is the neighbourhood in which we will be living and I got to see some more of the places that we will be living near! i
Tomorrow morning we are picking up the truck and heading out to Kingston. I'll be driving my parents' car and my dad will be driving the truck. My mum will ride down in the car with me on the way there and then on the way back to Ottawa she's going to ride in the truck with my dad and I will be driving with Tim and the cat :) Hopefully the cat plus long car ride will work out okay... we don't have a cat carrier that will fit him anymore so Tim is just going to have him on his lap/back seat with a leash on him. I think that will be okay... That's the same way normal people travel with a dog, right? He's like a small dog in a way...
So, tomorrow is moving out of Kingston. Sunday is moving into Ottawa. I can hardly believe it but by Monday morning we will live in Ottawa, by golly. Phew!
