Step up! I sense you’re on the precipice of something.

Overdue entry is overdue. Prepare for WALL OF TEXT!

Last Thursday:
Life decided to ruin PAX for me, as Carrie was fired from her job. Shit move on Greenpeace's half, but fuck them right? We saw here doctor that night, who confirmed Carrie had ADD (Coz no one saw that coming). She's going into therapy for that next week in Brooklyn, and once that's done, we're gonna look into getting her an adult tutor, to bring her reading/writing/spelling up. Any recommendations are welcomed. Job wise, Carrie/Carolann will be selling hats at like 4 or 5 events during the next month, so that and Cosplay commissions should bring her in some bank these next couple of months. Carrie will selling at ANEXT, as well as possibly Otakon, NYAF, and AUSA, depending on things. Gonna look into getting her a little side job so that she has some sort of confirmed pay check coming into the house as well. We haven't had to cancel any plans, and Dragon Con is still a go.

Moving along
Friday:
We left Bay Ridge at 840ish and got to Boston around 130, which wasnt that bad considering we stopped for gas and lunch. Our badges were retrieved quickly, so that was cool. We didn't get our 2 bedroom hotel, coz the Sheraton is a fucking mess when it comes to booking rooms, but the room was large enough for Carolann, Brian, Lauren, Karl and us to be comfty. After exploring the con for a bit, we went swimming, got denied Kotaku party, so we ended up doing the food cout with our army of nerds-L,B, Mario, Meg, Henry, Jesse, Adam, Poke-Sarah and BF. :3

From there we chilled at the bar, where Mario and I fought Brian with Iphone apps (I believe Jesse has that on video) and Mario and I ran into THIS GUY

Will Wheaton!

Eventually, I got tired of the bar, and headed to the concert, where I caught the tail end of Anamanaguchi, and all of Metroid Metal with AJ and Maryann. Twas awesome. Tried to stay awake for Frontalot, but was tired, so I grabbed some PA swag and called it a night.

Saturday
Psyduck Chris and Shaymin Carrie, although with Flower Brian and Lauren, went to Bill Amend's panel (of Fox Trot fame) which was lolzy, and then went the post-panel signing, where I also met Steve Cunts, aka Scott Kurtz of PVP fame, ans Kris Straub, where I picked up a PVP collection and a plushie for Carrie. From there I got in line for the Make a Strip panel, which was quite fun, as "Tycho" answered questions and told stories, while "Gabe" drew this past Monday's strip. We headed down to the food court next, where Carrie ate with John and co, while I did lunch with AP and The Hag, which was nice. I headed over to the Naughty Dog panel, but ran into Sean Ewing who told me it was already booked. :/. So we hung out, ran into Ben and played Magic the Gathering because we are fucking nerds.

Carolann purchased "Zombie Flux" a crazy ass card game that we played early that evening with Mario, Henry, Alex, Carrie, Mcslanty and Ben, later Jackie. Anna told me of a Barfleet (http://www.barfleet.org/) party, where I got hit on everything with a vag-eena the minute I walked in, as I was like the youngest guy there with an awesome GL hat. Twas weird. I did a shot of something I shouldnt have, and then returned with Mcslanty, John, Carrie and John's friend, because they had to see this thing. Would have been an awesome room party, if it didnt suffer a case of the hot and uglies.

Eventually we returned to the bar, and I rant into this guy. Worth noting is the fact that this photo was taking by some art director for some game called "Mass Effect". Never heard of it myself.

That's "Tycho". If you wondering why I'm in the same pose in both pics:

Anywho, Carrie wandered off to play some old school games on the Saturn and Collectvision, while I got my Bubble Booble on. We also swung by the JoCo concert, because why not.

Sunday I did breakfast with John and Mario, and the only event I went to was the PA Q & A, which proved to me why the PAX scene is better than any animoo con ever.

-Gabe and Tycho are funny, arent dicks despite the image they "play" on their strips, and genually give a fuck about the ppl working the con and their fans.
-Tons of ppl sang the praise of Child's Play, including one girl who broke down into tears while speaking, in which she got a proper hug from the boys, something I still get a little choked up about.
-A PA fan gave the boys a cool little gift. They awarded him a $12,000 processor not yet on the market. He gave it back to them, confirming that he indeed have a pc for gaming, but thought it would be better for Child's Play. To confirm, the dude GAVE 2 items to Gabe and Tycho, and asked for NOTHING in return. Which was a common them for most of the convention, or at least every time Mike And Jerry spoke.

Went home.

PAX, to some it up, was inspiring. I shit you not. AJ had been singing it's praises since we met, and I don't blame him. It was a glorious event with a awesome crowd of grateful nerds. While my attendance at several anime cons are in question over the next year, nothing short of financial poverty will be stopping me from attending PAX. The guys got both TEE! and I out of a funk, and I'm fucking grateful.

Also, while I've been rocking the Gabe icon since I started this LJ, I think I need an upgrade. Anyone up to the task of turning this strip into an icon?

nerdcore, videya, pax, penny arcade.
