Character Information
General
Canon Source: Tales of Symphonia
Canon Format: The first Game
Character's Name: Zelos Wilder
Character's Age:22
What form will your character's NV take? The sorcerer's ring. Will project a keyboard as needed. Strangely enough the gem will be black with green lines running through it. The other abilities of the Sorcerer's ring will not be accessible, (i.e. Fire, wind, water, etc.)
Abilities
Character's Canon Abilities: Swordsmanship, Healing magic, and other combat magics
List Here; ability to go ANGEL-FORM, but isn’t likely to use it unless a battle get serious, or he needs to fly somewhere.
Conditional: Dormant Ability Has been considered, but his angel form has heightened senses, and excellent magic capabilities. With that in play, giving him any sort of dormant ability may overpower Zelos, and i want to avoid that. There is an idea in mind, if his angel ability isn't considered enough of an ability.
Weapons: One-handed sword and Shield. Can also use Daggers. Erm, his Cruxis Crystal could be considered one, since without it he is unable to access Angel-Form.
History/Personality/Plans/etc.
Character History: Zelos life was never a happy one. Born to two parents who were forced to marry by the Oracle of Cruxis, his home life was not very warm. His father already had a woman he was involved with and Mylene, his mother loved someone else.
Neither his father nor his mother cared for Zelos that much, leaving Sebastian, the family butler as his main caretaker. When Zelos was young his father fathered a child with his half-elf mistress. She was his half-sister Seles. While not much is known about their childhood together, Zelos deeply cares for his half-sister even though to protect her he shows no obvious affection towards her later.
After Zelos' father dies, Seles mother tried to kill the young chosen. She did this because if Zelos died, Seles would become the next chosen in his place, being the daughter of the chosen.
It was a snowy day when Seles mother put her plan into action. Zelos and his mother went outside to build a snowman, and at that time Seles mother used magic to try and kill the young Zelos. However Mylene got caught in the magic instead of her son.
Zelos most vivid memory of this incident is red snow and the last thing his mother said to him, "You should never have been born."
Because of her attack Seles mother was put to death being a half-elf, and Seles was exiled to a distant abbey.
Zelos seems to carry a great amount of guilt stemming from that one incident. His self-loathing developed and was nurtured with the thought that he was a worthless chosen and that his sister could have done better if he had died that day in Meltokio.
Unfortunately the high-strung and cut throat ways of Meltokio society prevented Zelos from ever confronting his emotional trauma. To protect himself he developed a mask of confidence, self-esteem, and womanizing which hid himself from the vultures of Meltokio's high society and any other emotional trauma.
When Lloyd and his group first arrive in Tethe'alla he helps negotiate with the king and the pope to save Colette. During the travels he became friendly with the group, much to his own private astonishment, so when they decided they need to return to Sylvarant he travels with them and is branded a traitor to the Tethe’allan crown.
However Zelos has moments of suspicious behavior which puts his true loyalties into question...is he with Lloyd or against Lloyd? This question is solved during a visit to the tower of Salvation (One of Many) and he betrays the group leading a clueless Colette into the clutches of Pronema. The only question left is, will he fight them or go with Pronema?
Point in Canon: Right after entering the Tower of Salvation and he bring Colette to Pronema, the point in the game where he either betrays Lloyd and fights or doesn’t and instead betrays Cruxis and Yggdrasill.
Character Personality: Zelos is the comic relief character of the group. He rarely acts serious and is always prepared to break those heavy moments into little pieces, with a funny comment, lewd comment or a stupid comment. He’s not picky.
A bona-fide ladies man he charms all the women he meets with a few exceptions (i.e. Sheena, Collette, Raine, etc.), and receives gift from the ones he charms. However it's not just his smoothing talking that gets their attention, for Zelos is quite handsome, if he may say so himself.
However belaying his childish behavior Zelos is actually quite perceptive and even sensitive at times. Hidden beneath his immature, skirt-chasing, and irresponsible attitude is his own fair share of inner conflict and emotional pain, which he rarely allows others to see.
Like most everyone raised in Teth'ella he has a prejudice against half-elves. However he is more sympathetic to their plight then others, since he has a half-sister whose mother was a half-elf and he cares deeply for his sister who was shut away in a distant abbey because of her mother’s heritage and actions.
Zelos position as the Chosen of Teth'ella makes him Second only to the King in power and influence. Such power at a young age brought the attentions of the other nobles to him, but their interest was mainly in his power and not his personality. He used this to his advantage and hid behind his developing womanizer personality.
During the course of the game and interacting with Lloyd and his merry band of world changing optimists (okay, so mainly Lloyd and Collete then) Zelos starts to confront some of his deep seated issues. Some he overcomes fairly quickly, such as his remaining half-elf prejudice, while others such as his surprisingly low self-esteem, womanizing mask, and self-loathing are only half-dealt with.
By the time they reach the tower of salvation, Zelos soul has started to heal some from the repressed trauma in his life. The main question is, has it healed enough for him not to betray the only group which has allowed his soul the time and shown it the way towards healing. Only time will tell.
Character Plans: Interested in the Premise behind the game and meeting new people really. Events which are interesting also interested in playing with, and the survival horror aspect has definitely peaked an interest. Unsure about the two factions, if one makes the right offer he’d work for them, but otherwise he is dangerous because his survival is most important. Or at least, that’s how he used to think, but he’s in the middle of mental turmoil when he arrives in game.

First Person Sample
-Audio-
{There is the sound of clothes rustling.}
Worse than my first hangover. Urgh.
{A short silence.}
Where the Shadow am I? This is not Tethe’alla. Or even Derris Kharlon. What in the name of Martel happened to me? It felt like someone was casting Judgement or something on me.
{More sounds of cloth on cloth, then a small klink noise. A sounds of puzzlement is heard.}
What the. . .? The Sorcerer's ring? . . . Why was it in my pocket? I forgot I had this. Maybe I should be glad that I still have my Rare Shield and Laser Blade with me too.
Oh. And my Cruxis Crystal as well. Good. That would be bad to loose.
{A sigh.}
Oh Martel my stomach. Ugh. Maybe I’ll chance a First Aid spell without waiting for it to settle. It’d probably help.
First aid!
{There is the sound of moving air and then a relaxed sigh.}
Oh that’s so much better. But a bit more draining than usual. I think I’ll stay sitting here for a bit longer though. Enjoy the sunset. Or something.
Third Person Sample
Zelos stared around himself in confusion. Well, this was new. Okay, so what was the last thing he remembered was. . .Opening the door to the tower, Leading Colette to Pronema.
Then it felt like someone had centered a magic attack on him. The world compressed, narrowed and exploded.
Then he was here. Where ever he was.
Oh Martel, he feels sick.
“Ugh. Where in the name of Martel am I? And why do I feel like shit?”
Zelos didn’t recognize the area around him, baseball not being a sport native of his world. He looks around before staggering over to the dugout and sitting on a bench.
There was no way in HELL he was going to sit on the ground. His pants are White for Martel’s sake. Think of the dirt stains!
Now if only his stomach would settle. Then maybe he can do something about the soreness.
“Worse than my first hangover. Urgh.”
