Word came in that evening about some new Bovino invention. Usually, the Varia didn’t give a shit about anything the family did (aside from recovering stolen technology), so the information is usually ignored. Unfortunately, Xanxus calls Squalo into his office to let him know, then throws him out with the order to find Belle

The room is empty. Belle is never where anyone expects her to be, especially not in his room when he's looking for her.

Squalo slams the door, growls, and makes his way to the kitchen.

She isn't there either, though the staff looks more than a little panicked at his explosive arrival.

..well fuck. THE LIBRARY, THEN.

Belle is there, actually. She's curled up in one of the sinfully cozy chairs with a thick volume in her hands. A momentary look of alarm when he bursts in, before she relaxes, and returns her attention to the book. She's in the good part.

[loudassassin]

"VOOOI!" Squalo announces quite loudly, stomping on over. "News from the Bovino's just come in."

[iknifeyou]

"I'm supposed to care, why?" She doesn't even look up from her tome.

[loudassassin]

"Because it's your ticket out of here."

[iknifeyou]

That tears her attention from the book.

"How?"

[loudassassin]

"Some Bovino device. Boss has all the information."

[iknifeyou]

A moment of silence and she puts down the book. "The office?"

[loudassassin]

"Waiting."

[iknifeyou]

She gets up and passes him without a word, almost running.

[loudassassin]

Squalo huffs and follows, though heading to his room instead.

[iknifeyou]

She halts momentarily, and glances back. "You aren't coming?"

[loudassassin]

"No. Why would I?"
