Ok, so I've noticed that lately I've been eating carryout for almost every dinner. I went for a full week not cooking. As tired and grumpy as I am, there's no excuse! So this week I cooked three dinners:
Monday night, we had pasta with chicken, mushrooms, pecans, garlic, scallions. Sauce made with wine and almond milk. SO YUMMY!
Tuesday night, I made chili. We all love when I make chili :-) Put it over rice (jasmine instead of brown. BAD!)
Last night was Pollo Tropical because of hebrew school (aka the bane of my wednesdays)
And tonight, I happened to stop at Whole Foods on the way home. YAY! Mmm.... homemade (well. Whole Foods made. But not processed or packaged!) conch fritters (spicy! SO GOOD), for which I made a little honey-mustard-mayo sauce. Good stuff. Two different veggies (green beans with roasted garlic. choy sum -- aka my fave veggie! this really good green chinese veggie -- with a little sesame oil and minced garlic). And roasted rosemary garlic potatoes. YUMMY! Well. Ok, the potatoes were frozen. I got this BzzAgent package about Alexia frozen sides and kept forgetting the coupon they gave me. But I was trying to find something that looked good, and they had these potato wedges and they looked really yummy (and healthier than the tater tots to which I'd normally gravitate!), so I couldn't resist them, even without the coupon. No worries, I'll be going back with the coupon another time! Tasted almost as good as homemade. Not quite... but almost.... and there were a million different kinds. Well, ok, maybe it was closer to 10 or so, but... yeah. Regardless, I'm happy that I've been cooking more this week. :-)
Dessert will be fresh baked cookes, because clearly I should be eating dessert instead of exercising.
