I'm on a baby high....
Finally a real update! So I've spent the last 2 days for school in the NICU with all the premature babies and I loved it! I got to do a ton of stuff yesterday like draw blood and put an NG tube down one of the babies noses. Today all I did was feed the babies and I gave a bath to one. I couldn't get over how small they were!! One of the babies was called Sebastian which made me giggle (only the cool people will know why) and there was another baby whose mom was a heroin addict and had left him behind, so I wanted to bring him home with me!! I also got to see a circumcision which was VERY painful looking. I feel sorry for all those poor boys now!
So now since I really liked NICU I'm unsure about where I want to go after I graduate. I was sure I wanted to do adult ICU, but now I'm not sure. I like them both, but I will probably get hired straight into the ICU since I work there and a nurse told me today there was no chance of me getting hired straight into the NICU. I also liked pediatrics too so now I'm totally confused. Then there's my mom asking me all these questions about what I'm going to do once I graduate and where I'm going to live and I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing. I know I've still got a ways to go but I'm starting to feel a bit overwhelmed. I have to decide in April where I want to do my preceptorship for my last semester so I'm really going to have to think about that.
Oliver is now officially dewormed, but he is also on a diet since he gained 9 oz in 2 weeks! The vet told me I need to watch out for his weight so once his current food runs out it's diet food from now on! And he's also still a dumbass because he chewed up Melissa's carpet today.
Going to see Keith Urban this Thursday with Sam which should be fun. Then Motion City in a couple of weeks. I can't wait for Spring Break. I plan on being lazy and sleeping in every morning! I wish I could sleep in tomorrow because I am so exhausted right now. I'm definitely going to bed early tonight.
Oh and I have one final note to add: Melissa was drunk last night and it was awesome!! Melissa we need to build up your tolerance level! He he :)
