Canon Rambles For Lien

I literally just thought this up yesterday due to dream event at GB (which I may or may not do HELLO BACKTAGGING!? Probably not) but I just wanted to put this up here since it may come in handy for when I want to give Lien her own story.

The Sea of Thought

In Lien's world everyone has their own 'Sea of Thought.' Of course everyone's dream is different and there isn't necessarily a literal 'sea.' But the 'sea' is like the base of the dreamlike state and consciousness of a person. The sea never ends until the person dies, but even then the remains of consciousness doesn't fade away.

Lien alludes to it a lot by describing the sensation she experiences when using psychometry. The difference between normal or magical people when compared to psychics is that psychics have a better grasp of what they control within their Sea of Thought. This is why Lien can utilize her sleeping time to ease and reduce the information and pain gained from psychometry. It is imperative that psychics in her world learn to have this basic control or else their minds would become broken with extensive use of their powers.

Inside her mind, there appears to be a deep blue sky riddled with white clouds; a serene place. There's water everywhere-- that is her Sea. It reflects the sky perfectly and clearly like a mirror.

When one looks down at the water however, they see many things-- memories, information, almost everything Lien has experienced. Good things, sad things, horrifying things, the past, hopes for the future. Sometimes the reflections fade, sometimes they do not. They need to fade at some point though for she can't clutter her Sea of Thought with things that are not hers.

What's most mysterious about her dreamlike state is that there's one area that looks particuarly cloudy as if there's a coming of a storm, but it never quite takes over the rest of the peaceful dream. But there's a sound of rolling thunder. Always there and sometimes there's even shrill screaming. (Vietnam War, bombs falling from the air, warfare-- Phuong's memories that resonate in Lien)

But there's Lien wading through the sea, clothed in white, hair reaching down to her ankles, and singing over the the thunder and screams. Sometimes her voice wins sometimes it doesn't. It depends.

Is that girl really Lien though? When one speaks to her she acts confused but then suddenly remembers-- yes I'm Lien! I think I am. I'm not sure yet. She then gives you a dreamy, but ominous warning to not go near the thunder. Sometimes the thunder strikes her. She wouldn't want that to happen to you.

And thus, this is her Sea of Thought.

ooc!, ramble
