How does it ever get so cold here- t-trời ơi... It's really intolerable, isn't it?

Does it get worse than this? [Her voice drops, sounding somewhat distressed and annoyed.] I can't imagine that... [Mayfield's fairly mild early December weather is still too cold for Vietnam. She's a tropical country with a long monsoon season; ( Read more... )

[OOC - Just gonna say this is before Theta's droning if that's all right by you?]

Ah, if you have a reliable cold remedy, I think I may need to have some on hand. My Darling seems to like being out in the cold, I think he might catch one.

[that's fine!]

I would be happy to help. [oh no don't accept her help...]

That's very kind of you. Is it a recipe or is it something that will keep? [Oh but it's not for her. She doesn't realise it yet, but this will actually be punishment for Albedo for being a derp in the cold.]

It is a recipe, but it's made with preserved plums, so it does keep, in a way.

Where does one get preserved plums? You mean the tinned ones from the shop?

A-ah- I had to do it myself, actually. The grocery store is not forthcoming at all with any ingredients that I am familiar with...

Well if it's a good cold remedy, it's worth having on hand as cold weather sets in. I would make you a few gas masks and an air purifier and oxygen generator in exchange for a large jar of preserved plums and any other speciality ingredients needed. What else goes into it?

[there is a moment of stunned silence while she processes what the woman has just said. that... sounds very, very useful. but-] I couldn't possibly accept something so generous.

If you want to bulk out your side of the offer with other odds and ends to make it fairer, I wouldn't refuse. But not only is it the one thing I have of value to offer.....

I don't particularly want to hear people on the phones dying the next time the hazmats come to town. If they've been here once, I have no doubts but what they'll be here again.

I believe I ought to. [because something so valuable deserves equal compensation, she believes.]

...Of course. They seem to be brought up out of mist, and disappear just as quick. It is likely that Mayfield could produce as many as it wanted to.

The most valuable thing, for me, in this place, is clockwork pieces; gears, springs, things of that nature, though if you have other things that might be useful for a resistance effort, that would be quite helpful as well.

...It seems you have information and experience?

I can't help you with clockwork, but I do have information and experience...

We're having a gathering at a friend's house on Monday the thirteenth. Evening time, I don't think there's a set time. It's 1647 Albright Lane...could you attend? We'll all be sharing information, so you could walk away with more than you came with, as well.

[OOC - You don't have to come, but there's an invite here if you'd like to be a part of it. ♥]

Mm... I believe so. [information, especially here, is power. she would have to be a fool to turn it down.] I will be sure to attend.

[I'll jump in, thanks for the invite!]

I'll see you there, then. Ah, I didn't catch your name, actually...?

And, if you could bring the plums to where I'm staying [Note, not 'my house', if you're into details.], it's 5721 Cunningham Lane. And you can tell me how to put together the rest of it then?

I should have an air purifier and oxygen generator as well as four gas masks by the end of this week.

I am Vietnam.

[a nod, though Theta can't see it, of course] I will be happy to come over to make the delivery. Thank you for your generosity.
