New Beginnings

Jan 05, 2007 21:06

I have been very sick. I definitely have a bad case of bronchitis that has had me bedridden for over a week now. Though I have been trying to do at least some interpreting work, it has been nice to not be tied to schedules, and to take most of my days easy and relaxed. 2006 has been a passionate year, full of discoveries and of hard work. I hardly had any time off. It's been good for me to have time to just lay down. Of course, this ultimately will mean more work ahead of me, but for now, all I can do is sit here and enjoy.
I have also been on the internet far less than usual, but I did come across this great Mark Morford editorial about the start of a new year that I just had to share:

"Here is what I suggest: All you have to do, in this time of hope, in this meek little window of moist possibility, is merely resolve to remember.
To remember that you -- or rather, You (in the cosmic, capital C, past lives, weird dreams, tingling-sensation-up-your-spine sense) -- chose this, chose to be here and exist on this plane at this time in this skin with those aches and joys and terrors and pimples and with that very exact profound sensation that there is so much more to all of this than is dreamed of in our meager philosophy. "
