Robin Hood, or How Ego Ruined a Good Concept

I actually liked this more than I thought I would, but then I was expecting it to be complete pants so I'm not really sure what that says. Lady Marian leading some teenage boys on ponies into battle - and then reverts to damsel in distress mode. I actually really would have liked her to be the one to off Godfrey, but instead that's left to Robin, while Marian blubbers about in the shallow water because her chainmail is too heavy. Fail.

Ha, yes. My sister and I were wondering what the other soldiers thought of Robin apparently making out with another dude in the middle of the battle, too. :p

The 'I love you' was so tacked on. Especially when they had all the setup before it and could have simply had him promise to return, telling her more or less the same thing with less anvilicious obviousness. I guess they thought audiences were stupid and might have missed the romance so far?

I have an irrational soft spot for Crowe, probably because he amuses me with his random public outbursts. (Like the poetry thing? What was that?) But they really lost me at the speech about Liberty For All, coming as it did out of nowhere. Repressed memories apparently carry with them a hitherto unseen depth of passion for civil rights, or something. Sigh.
