The DoctorDonna

The episode finally downloaded...

...and it ripped my heart to shreds.  I was literally exhausted after watching it.  I loved the music though - it is the first time I have really noticed it in an episode, and it made it all so epic.

I'm not a Doctor/Rose shipper - but I can see how some shippers might feel a little cheated.  I didn't mind Rose and the alt!Doctor, myself, although I do think it would be a little strange for Rose since he's not really the same Doctor at all - he's part-Donna.  Which could be very odd for her.

Catherine Tate made me cry.  Seriously.  I never thought I'd say that, but she was so fantastic in the entire episode, and then at the end... with all the flashbacks of her being awesome... It made me feel so sad - and the talk between her Gramps and the Doctor?  Gah.

I'm so glad The DoctorDonna made a return - it's a phrase that been with me ever since Planet of the Ood and the payoff was great.  Although I have been planning a fic titled 'The DoctorDonna' for a while now, just waiting for the season to end for closure on her storyline, but now I'm sure I've been beaten to the punch.  Hmmm.  Might just retitle, or not.  Anyone up for beta-ing it for me when I'm done with it?  I've not written in the Who-verse before.

So happy for the return of Mickey, who I just love to bits.  I hope him and Martha walking off with Jack is a sign they will both join Torchwood full-time next season.  Yes, please!

I just don't know what the think about the ending, though, with the Doctor all alone again, and Donna back to her old life - she has been my favourite companion for a while now, and I don't think I'll be able to let go of her that quickly.  A few people have already mentioned how sad it is for her to revert back to her old ways, so to speak, and back to her old insecurities, never knowing how great she can be, and I don't like to see brilliant characters like that regress.

So am I bovvered?  Yeah, just a little bit.

Anyways, off to give the BBC's lastest offering a try - Bonekickers - the show that, like Dr Jones, wants to prove that in archaeology, 'X' never, ever marks the spot (except of course that it always does)
