Two yuuki strips within recent memory, hooray!
And that's all I have to say about that.
And now, two mini-movie reviews:
The Constant Gardener: The second movie in a row to break "the love story paradox." The love story paradox is this: don't these people have jobs or hobbies or something? In this movie they have both jobs and hobbies, and a story! Understandable personal flaws abound, also a story that is a love story that takes place somewhere not in a void. Mild motion sickness factor on some of the shots.
Fail-safe: This movie makes me feel stupid. There's just enough drama, high quality actors and great writing to reel you in and...just let you drift away. Usually I can pay enough attention to a complex film without trying, but I guess there's an exception to every rule. Great cinematography, Henry Fonda does the best president ever. Walter Mathau has amazing lines, but then his character kind of has a bunch of random characteristics stuck on and hits a woman for no reason? Anyway, kudos to this movie for giving us all the bomb drop countdown where each number is a cut to some idyllic scene in the city about to be destroyed.
