(no subject)
I lost my contract job for an insurance company (that was supposed to last for 6 months) on Oct 9. That was my fourth week with them. The temp agency just called me after I got home from work, it was a complete shock. The moods, which were not doing well to being with, started going downhill.
Luckily, I have awesome people in my life. wanderbyy covered my ticket so that I could still go to Renfaire, which was great fun. I hadn't been for the past few years. She also deserves thanks for helping me get into my corset. I totally need to wear that thing more often. Especially if I can get it to work by myself.
Jon came up for the weekend too. We watched anime, saw Choke (which I really liked, I'm going to have to read the book now), and Jon covered the massage I had scheduled before I found out about my unemployment. I don't like to gush about him a lot because a lot of people hate to hear that-- I know I did when I was single and didn't think I would ever be in a decent loving relationship-- but he really is so sweet, understanding, and just good to be around. I normally don't like friend groups to meet but I actually want him to meet as many of my other friends as possible. Of course, this somehow never works out.
Also I am in fact accomplished today-- I got myself a new job. One of the places I applied to yesterday had me set up an appointment for today, so I took some tests, got an interview, and got a job offer all today. I'll be starting on the 27th. It's a second shift job, and is dealing with customer problems, neither of which I prefer, but I can deal with it. And I'll be looking for other stuff in the meantime.
