C's wedding was so sweet and lovely!
I met up with her at the hair salon in the morning, she was very excited but not nervous at all. It was fun to do some of the prep with her. Then I went to my parents and AN and I got ready and headed out to the
Brentwood Bay Lodge and Spa where he met up with AW's fiance in the lobby and they went off for coffee and I headed up to the bridal suite to meet up with the girls. AW and J were there. C and her sis (L) were soon there too we toasted the bride with a glass of champaign and flitted about doing this and that. Eventually we got her into her dress and we were all off for the main event.
She looked gorgeous! Her gown was beautiful and her hair and makeup were perfect. The ceremony was on a heated patio ovelooking the marina and it was a beautiful sunny day. The whole ceremony was less than 10 minutes. Then we went inside to the dining room. The room was beautiful, big windows ovelooking the deck (where we had the ceremony) lots of stone and natural wood (but modern, not rustic) the servers brought bread baskets around and we each had two drink tickets tucked inside our place cards. The MC gave a quick intro and invited us to go to the bar to redeem our drink tickets and the couple slipped out for about 20 minutes to do pictures outside. They were back in time for the salads to be served. There were 4 quick speaches (maybe 2min each) and then lunch was served. After lunch they played the newlywed game (the one with the shoes that I love! - and Christy said "this is for you" and pointed at me!) and then they did a slideshow. There were some technical difficulties and the MC said to go get another drink so I went to the bathroom and I ended up missing the whole part of Christy growing up and apparently I was in 5 photos with her and it would have been nice to be to look at her and smile and remember but I missed it so tough beans. I saw the part about Patrick growing up and about them as a couple so that was good. It was really cute and it was set to music. After the slideshow they fed each other a bite of cupcake (they did the cupcake thing instead of a big cake) and invited everyone to come up and take a cupcake and coffee and tea were served and everyone started milling about and chatting and having the cupcakes and doing photos with the bride and groom. At 4:00 people started to drift out and the MC let everyone know that the diningroom was going to be set up for dinner service but we were invited to head to the pub on the other side of the lobby and continue visiting and all of the relatives left and almost all of their friends stayed to visit and they went off to do more photos and we all just chatted until they returned and then they did the garter toss and bouquet toss and then it was 6:00 so we had to leave and catch the ferry.
Good stuff.
