Wonderful Day

Mar 12, 2008 03:46

(20th of February, 2007. No exaggerations, no falsehoods. This was my day.)

Well I woke up
To the ringing of the phone
A good hour late
For my appointment in the morning
Breakfast would have taken too long
And I couldn't wait

Couldn't find my key
Couldn't lock my door
I didn't have a second to lose
And anyway I hadn't locked it before

I took the train
Running to the station in the winter rain
Wearing suede
The black jacket
My aunt had bought for Christmas
There goes that

I ran through the doors
I got on the train
FIve stations to the Hibiya line
Then I start running again

It was a wonderful day, hey
In every way, hey

Got there on time
Lord knows how I did it
Met the guys
Walked with no umbrella to the fitting
But there was a problem with the size
They didn't fit

Couldn't wear the clothes
They went home again
By the way, I can wear what I please
'Cause I'm smaller than the three Japanese

Went to the bank
Discovered that my money's running low
Time for some lunch
The mall was closed
On a Tuesday
The rain is freezing my nose

So I walked around
Then went home again
On the way back, I made a few calls
And took some pictures of walls

It was a wonderful day, hey
In every way, hey
It was a wonderful day, hey
In every way, hey

Every day something goes wrong
But what you do can make the song you sing
A joy or dirge
Build your castles in the air
'Cause then you'll see them everywhere you go
Your rock, your urge

I went home
Found my key and went out alone
To take pictures of the shore
As the day turned into night
I ate out
Spilled my soup but it's ok,
Stayed up way too late, but anyway,
That's just how I play

It was a wonderful day, hey
In every way, hey
It was a wonderful day, hey
In every way, hey

Every day something goes wrong
But what you do can make the song you sing
A joy or dirge
Build your castles in the air
'Cause then you'll see them everywhere you go
Your rock, your urge

It was a wonderful day, hey
In every way, hey
It was a beautiful day, hey
In every way, hey yeah.
