I've been back in Victoria for seven months, and I'm now used to it enough that I'm starting to miss up North. How strange, but there it is. My job with the MoF up in Nanaimo is pretty good, though I wish that we weren't in such young stands all the time. With the way it is now, all I see is scenery cross-hatched with cutting blocks and heavy equipment.
I thought that being in Victoria would be the magic-presto to the general unrest that I was feeling with my life, it's certainly good to be around family and friends again but I think I need more to get eveyrthing settled. But I'm not complaining, the job is good, and my place in town is really enjoyable. I have ten days off working for every four days at home, my work partner and I settled on this because it allows for a lot less travelling from Nanaimo. Nanaimo is the head office, so we have to leave the truck there and do all our paperwork there as well. Thankfully we have a laptop, so I can do almost everything else while we're away. Like surf the web, and email! So it's not too bad.
There's so much more going on right now, but this entry was meant to be a change from me not posting for so long. Hopefully I'll get on it while I'm away this work trip, we're heading for an overnighter up in Sayward and then the rest of the time will be in Gold River.
