TITLE: Yin & Yang
CHAPTER: Nine
PAIRING: Ohno x Ninomiya / Hints of Aiba x Sakurai
RATING: PG13
SUMMARY: “The Creator has given you this chance to prove yourself. If you do not do so, your very existence will be ripped from this earth, and you will be stuck in the in between for all of eternity,”

When Sho’s eyes snapped open, he was in an unfamiliar room, that smelt like his younger brother. He sat up slowly, his sharp eyes darting around the room. When he could see nothing threatening, he climbed off of the bed, realising that he had no socks, shoes or t-shirt on .

He was slightly woozy as he moved towards the door, and with a start, remembered that he had hurt his leg. He looked down at his jeans, to see that on the side he was hurt, there was no material on his calf. After a quick inspection (there was nothing but a faint pink line), Sho left the bedroom and walked down the hallway.

He froze as he walked past another door in the hall. He could tell by smell that Nino was in that room with Ohno, and there was only one thing that made that kind of rhythmic thumping noise.. Sho shook his head and sped down the hallway away from the door.

“So he really is in love with that angel,” He mumbled to himself, slowing down and running a red tinged hand through his dark hair. His tail swished gently behind him and he padded slowly to the living area, where he could sense that Jun was sleeping deeply and peacefully.

He stopped suddenly when he saw someone laying on the floor near the door; away from the sofa.

Aiba was curled up on his side; he was laying on one huge white wing, with the other wrapped around him to keep him warm. But he was still shivering.

Sho gulped and took a step towards him. He knew that the angel had healed him, and probably saved his life, and he felt very very slightly guilty that he had saved him and his brother and was sleeping on the cold, hard floor.

“Hey,” He growled, reaching out and nudging him with his foot.

Unlike Sho, who came awake immediately, Aiba groaned and stretched out, rubbing at his eyes.

“Oi, get up,” Sho said, nudging him again. The archangel sat up and peered up at the devil, still rubbing at his eyes.

“Oh, you’re legs alright,” Aiba smiled, extending his hand. When Sho looked at him in confusion, Aiba rolled his eyes, “Well, help me up then!”

Sho’s top lip twitched in the effort of not baring his fangs, and reached out to help Aiba to his feet. However, as Sho stepped away from him and pulled him up, Aiba lost his footing and almost dived forward. The force of his fall sent him crashing into Sho’s chest, knocking the devil off of his feet and onto his back.

Sho’s eyes widened as the archangel landed on top of him, their lips smashing together. For a moment, the pair were frozen; a pair of bright green eyes staring into a pair of red eyes while their lips were connected.

Sho’s arms moved to Aiba’s chest, thrusting him away. The angel landed hard on his backside, his entire face even redder than Sho’s naturally red tinged skin.

“S.. Sorry,” He mumbled, running the back of his hand over his lips, “Didn’t do it on purpose,”

Sho grunted and got to his feet, keeping his eyes averted, “Do you want to sleep in the bed?” He asked, dusting himself off.

He looked up when he heard a gasp; Aiba had one hand over his chest and one covering the juncture between his legs.

“You’re moving too fast for me, Sho-san!” He gasped, “We’ve only had one kiss!”

Sho’s top lip lifted from his sharp canines in a snarl, “What the fu-”

“I’m just joking, Jeez,” Aiba sighed, getting to his feet, “You devils are so stiff! No sense of humour at all!”

Sho snarled again and turned his back on the archangel, “Fuck it, I don’t even care,”

There was a groan from the living room, followed by an annoyed, “You guys are so fucking loud!”

“Sorry!” Aiba whispered, before turning back to Sho, “He was so nice before!”

“Because he hadn’t just woken up,” Sho snorted, moving away from the living room.

“Anyway, care about what?” Aiba asked, quietly following the devil as he walked back to the bedroom that he woke up in.

“Nothing,” Sho muttered.

“Oh come on, tell me,” Aiba whined, poking Sho in the cheek with his finger.

Sho slapped the hand away from him with a growl.

“Come on,” Aiba insisted, fluctuating the vowels on each word.

“I felt guilty,” Sho snapped, turning away from Aiba, “Because you healed me and my brother and were sleeping on the cold, hard floor. But forget it,”

Aiba smiled and crossed his arms over his chest, “Ah, what a good heart,” He commented, “I will totally accept your invitation to sleep with you,”

“It’s not an invitation!” Sho snarled, grabbing the archangel by the front of his shirt, “And you-”

Sho froze suddenly, as Aiba’s green eyes darted towards the door.

“What is it?”

“I think.. We have a visitor,” Aiba hissed, dropping his arms from his chest and pulling out of Sho’s grasp, “Oh, damn,”

---

“N.. No! No, My Lord, No!” Ohno screamed as the Creator’s arm slowly extended towards the devil.

“No! Kazunari! No!“

Nino could hear Ohno’s voice, but he wasn’t sure of what he was saying. All he knew was that the Creator himself was in front of him, about to rip his soul out of existence.

When he was fully backed into the wall, his eyes sought out Ohno, who was screaming, but seemingly frozen to the spot.

He could see the pain in the archangels eyes, and suddenly relaxed.

“He really does care about me,” He said softly, his entire being feeling fully at peace, “He wasn’t just saying it..”

He closed his eyes as he felt the heat of the Creator’s hand getting closer to him, and it was as if everything was in slow motion; the hand reaching for him, Ohno screaming, Jun rushing into the kitchen, followed by Aiba, Sho sprinting towards him, arms out stretched.

Sho sprinting towards him?

Nino’s eyes snapped open as he felt a force hit him so hard that he bounced off of the fridge and landed on the floor.

“Sho!” He screamed, scrabbling to get to his feet as Sho was thrown backwards into the wall, his eyes rolling back in his head.

Jun and Aiba leapt forward to catch him as his body crumpled, almost folding in on itself as he sank down to the floor.

The Creator stepped away from Sho and turned slowly to face Nino, who was frozen in shock.

“You seem to have another chance, child,” He said, before vanishing into thin air.

“Sho-nii!” Jun wailed, gently smacking Sho’s now grey cheeks, “Sho-nii, wake up! Please wake up!”

Aiba stared at Sho’s body, his eyes wide, before lifting his gaze to look at Jun.

“Jun-san,” He said quietly, “Jun-san, he’s not.. He’s not going to wake up,”

“Don’t say that!” Jun screamed, his tail and horns bursting free of his body in a violent crack of emotion, “Don’t you dare say that! He has to wake up.. He has to!”

Nino stumbled forwards as Jun’s tears began to fall free of his eyes. He cradled Sho’s body, pulling him onto his lap and leaning down as sobs began to rack through his body. Just as Nino fell to his knee’s besides his brothers, a bright light accompanied by a loud pop enveloped the room.

When all were able to open their eyes again, Sho’s body was gone; nothing more than a pile of smoking ash spread over Jun’s lap and the kitchen floor.

There was a beat of silence before the two remaining brothers screamed out their anguish.
