Well, I have been meaning to do one of these for ages, and never gotten around to it. So here goes, anyhow.  Links go to my journal entries mostly, but some of the older stuff is only posted on FF.N.

Ah, yes there was a lot of overlap between BH and WR fandom. And I do remember Ness! Funny, being Australia, there's a Sydney crowd, and a Melbourne crowd. Friendly rivalry, and all. I ended up with the Sydney crowd, so Ness and I were never close friends. But fandom then was like a small country town - everyone knew everyone. We used to have massive ICQ chats where just about everyone (all 20 or so of us!) would show up.

*sigh* I am all nostalgic now. I get so lost in US fandoms, they're so big. Of course the upside is that there's many more fics.

Hehe. I never paid for tapes, only traded - I think it felt less illegal then because there was no easy way of accessing the stuff otherwise. These days, almost every series made is out on DVD a couple of months later. Back then, if you missed it on TV? Tough cookies.

I was thinking that I can no longer imagine waiting for enough eps to air to fill a videotape, plus international postage, before seeing the latest eps! Now I complain if I don't get to see them within 24 hours. We are spoiled indeed.
