Yesss, new Rifftrax Live. In August. And it's Manos: the Hands of Fate. I've never worked up the nerve to watch that one, though I faintly recall seeing a bit of it on TV waaay back when. It honestly freaked me out, but then I probably had no idea what the context was. I found Crow's silhouette somewhat creepy back then too. Sorry, Crow.
In other news, Rumbelle tea is as tasty as it is dorky. Those berry flavors are off the charts. There was like a whole dried strawberry in my last cup! Brew for two and half minutes and enjoy.
Delish.
So, it's looking highly likely that I'm going to get my vision corrected next Thursday. I'd like to be more excited about it, but I read the laundry list of possible screw-ups that could happen, and it keeps cutting in whenever I think about it. Whatever. I really, really don't want to be functionally blind anymore, I have the means to do it, the place I'm going to has done the procedure hundreds of thousands of times, so there. I've worn glasses since I was seven years old- I can't really wrap my head around the idea of just seeing without them. Still, I'm looking forward to it. This coming up Sunday I think I'll go shopping for my first pair of non-prescription sunglasses. After I go to the pharmacy and get the eyedrops I'm supposed to use so my eyes don't die.
Meme time! 9 - Pairings - For each of the fandoms from day two, what are your three favorite pairings to write?
*screams internally* I am freaking still editing that list, adding stuff I forgot. Okay, let's dive into it again. Right off the bat, I'm eliminating fandoms I only did one tiny thing for and nothing else. Also, very few of these will get as many as three pairings. I'm monogamous that way.
Firefly- Wash/Zoe, naturally. I'm cool with all the canon pairings, pretty much.
Codename Kids Next Door- Oy, uhh, 1/5? Egh, I don't want to think about 'shipping children anymore.
Pirates of the Caribbean- You know, it's interesting, but I really don't feel any strong 'shipping inclinations in any direction. That fandom had some 'ship wars, didn't it? *shrugs*
Heroes- Peter/Claude 4EVA. Also, I guess, Matt/Mohinder. And when I'm in the mood, Claude/Sandra/Noah.
The Middleman- Canon pairings all the way, thanks. And for a third, Mirror!Wendy/Major West from 28 Days Later. Everyone who isn't visiblemarket (because she already knows), you're welcome for that amazing new crack crossover villain OTP.
Better Off Ted- As much as I wouldn't actually wish Veronica on anybody, I have a bit of a soft spot for Veronica/Ted. And of course Phil/Lem. And thirdly, I'm cool with Ted/Linda.
Doctor Who- Heh, wow, what a selection, huh? I guess Nine/Rose, for sentimental reasons. Though I'm also fond of Nine/Jabe and Nine/Lynda, those blink-and-you-miss-it pairings. Eleven/River grew on me with their outrageous flirting. And I'm all for the canon pairing Doctor/TARDIS. ETA: OH! And Nine/Rose/Jack. Definitely.
Reaper- Canon pairings are fine, thanks. Ben/Nina and Tony/Steve = love. ... Do you think Reaper's writers realized there was already a Tony/Steve pairing in fandom?
Watchmen- Ohh, Dan/Walter, okay? Fine. Dan/Walter/Laurie too. Adrian/Eddie is fun for the snark factor.
Psych- I contend that Shawn/Lassiter would be canon if one of them was female.
White Collar- Gotta be Peter/Neal/Elizabeth. I accept no substitutes.
Burn Notice- Michael has had some brilliant chemistry with a couple one-off characters whose names I don't feel like looking up, and I kind of like the dynamic Sam/Fiona would have, but canon is all right with me.
Fringe- Honestly, I never felt any romantic chemistry between Peter and Olivia until "Brown Betty," which doesn't count as it wasn't technically canon. The situation has improved over the last season or two, but still, meh. I faintly remember being interested in Peter/Astrid, as if that was ever gonna happen. And I've liked what they've implied of Altlivia/Lincoln. Oh! I remember also really hoping for Charlie/Olivia, which was probably just as likely as Peter/Astrid.
Grimm- Nick/Monroe's been the only thing that's grabbed me so far. Otherwise, the canon pairings have been fine.
Once Upon a Time- GUESS. Besides them... I'm kind of hoping Ruby/Archie becomes a thing, because it'd be so friggin' cute.
