Hmm.
1. Uhh, when they came on the screen? Hard not to 'ship the adorable married couple.
2. Well, focusing on the TV series, there's friction caused by Wash being jealous of Zoe's relationship with Mal. Which is a conflict that would annoy me, if it wasn't so wonderfully dealt with in "War Stories," one of my favorite episodes. And then in "Heart of Gold," the idea was introduced that Zoe wanted to have a kid, but Wash wasn't sure they could fit one into their life of crime. I wonder where that would have gone... -_-.
3. They're a lovely "opposites attract" couple, with the stoic terse Zoe and the goofy nerdy Wash. I love that.
4. GUESS. GO ON, GUESS. *bawls* and 5. I DARE YOU. *wails*
6. Hmm, interesting. Um, I kind of don't mind imagining Zoe/River, sort of, post-movie. Nor do I mind thinking about Wash and Kaylee being all flirty and cute, either before Zoe or if Zoe/Wash didn't happen. And, ah, I don't think this counts, but Zoe/Mal/Wash has a certain appeal.

LOL, that ended up being just as obvious as if I had gone with the obvious pairing.
I admittedly have sort of a thing for Zoe/Jayne. Just because he's so different from Wash and I think she wouldn't want to replace Wash in any way, so she'd go in the other direction?
Do you want to do the obvious pairing? I kind of want to see what you'd say.

I could see a few trysts between them, Jayne mostly confused and Zoe mostly emotionless.

Normally I would offer to write you something happy and fluffy to make up for it, but the muse is not cooperating.
I think Jayne already has moments of softness and smartness that could potentially be expanded. In the right circumstances. For a hot woman who can put up with him, definitely.
Pfft, you clearly misconstrued my subtle hints because I totally meant the epic love of DCI David Bilborough and Sheriff's Deputy Jake Eckhart ;)

Although to be honet it's not so much an inspiration problem as an "I am exhausted and have too much to do" problem. Ugh, I don't even want to say "but maybe I'll have time this weekend" because whenever I do say that something comes up and nothing gets done.
Pffft, you don't need more to work with to answer all of the above questions.
