I rave about Peets Coffee all of the time, and I know some of my friends do not have a Peets in their area.

I have a free shipping offer I got in my e-mail that may work for you! Go to Peets Coffee and enter Promotion Code X6WLCMFS at check-out.

My *favorite* blend is the Arabian Mocha-Java although their popular Major Dickason's Blend is quite ( Read more... )

Taoist_pagan has a reply for you, but since this is friends locked, he can't post it. Here it is for you:

"I do indeed like Sumatra, Ourika likes Kenya, I've tried their "ecoffee" blend and been pleased. Also, they're having a special -- get a free 1/2 pound of Tanzania Peaberry (I've tried it, it's good!) with any order. As for flavors, I tend to like the ones with nutty flavors. Flavors like Almond, Amaretto, Egg Nog, Pumpkin Spice, Prailine, and so on. We have Raspberry cream right now -- yummy! You can get a sampler pack of six 1/2 pound bags.

Here's the page for the special offer. (http://www.coffeeam.com/picyourfregi.html) Sign up for their newsletter, and you'll get notices telling you which coffee is on special this month.

Enjoy"

My own notes:: the raspberry cream that we currently have is very tasty, but next time I'm going to go for some sort of chocolate cream as my special flavor treat. This has too sweet of a taste for me (but if I wasn't being super picky, I'd be letting you know that even with me being super-picky, I'm THOROUGHLY enjoying the raspberry cream that I can now drink with my change in medication).

Thank you and Taoist_pagan so much! I appreciate the insight and my cart is filling fast. :) I'll unlock the entry in case he wishes to chime in again.

For him: For the Sumatra, if you don't mind me asking, do you prefer the light or dark?

I'm eying the blueberry, personally. I do have a weakness for blueberry.

Taoist-pagan here.

Personally, I love the earthy, rich flavor of Sumatra. I don't like VERY dark roasts. If I want espresso, I'll brew espresso. If I want coffee, I don't want an espresso roast or a french roast. I generally brew it a bit stronger than your average American cup of joe.

I'm a strange coffee drinker. I used to drink too much coffee (the caffiene made me bonkers), then I quit cold turkey and didn't drink it for months, then I brought it back in moderation. Then I started drinking too much, repeat cycle a few times.

To break the cycle, I started drinking half-caf. It was a perfect amount of caffiene for the amount of coffee I like to drink, which is about 3 - 4 mugs; I really like the taste of coffee!

Now, most companies flavor their coffee too much for my tastes, so when I'd want flavored coffee, I'd do half flavored and half unflavored decaf Sumatra, and it would be perfect.

But coffeeam.com does not overflavor their coffees! So if I dilute it by the above method, the flavor is too weak! I think I'm just too picky. But if I'm brewing my cup of coffee, shouldn't it be JUST how I like it?

Anyway, that's probably way more than you ever wanted to know about me and my coffee drinking habits. But you seem like you take your coffee seriously, and now, if I make comments or give my opinion, you know where it's coming from.

Uh-oh! I just saw the coffeeam website. The two roasts of Sumatra is a new thing! I've been doing ecoffee for a while. As I recall, I used to get and enjoy the darker roast, which was the only roast at the time.

One more thing, most times they roast it to order. It'll say on the label, "Roasted specially for Taoist-pagan." Neato.

Yes, your coffee should be just how you like it! I appreciate your input and honestly, your coffee habits sound much like my own. I'm glad to hear the decaf Sumatra is worth trying. I have a difficult time finding a decaf worth mixing and I am trying to cut back just a bit on the caffeine. Well, at least sometimes. ;)

I'm anxiously awaiting my order. I went ahead with the Sumatra and the flavored sampler. I hope to be enjoying it very soon.

Thank you again!
