A small step for mankind, a giant leap for Lotta

Well, today I took a giant leap forward. (Not literally.) I am weaning myself out of the boot. I managed to walk (with one crutch) a total of about five blocks. In some ways, it feels better than the boot as I am no longer walking lopsided, and there is no longer a thud, thud, thud annoucing my arrival. It also feels good because it seems like I am getting the whole range of motion throughout the step. Its just going to take some time. I finally found a PT here in Stockholm, and she lived in the States for several years, so she's quite comfortable with English. And as opposed to my therapist in the States, she doesn't seem to be a sadist. I liked her even more when she said we had to be nice to my knee. In fact, she seems to be more concerned with the problems (snap, crackle, pop) I'm having with my knee than she is with the recovery of the foot (not that she's ignoring it, just seems satisfied with its progress). It seems like the foot is where is should be at this point in the healing process. And now its just a matter of putting one foot in front of the other.
