Friday we got to the airport an hour early. Then, midbar showed up late, but thinking that they were responsible, I thought that they were meeting at the gate the time they told me, so I was about to go up to the gate and then I ran into Kevin. So that was good. So we waited for everyone else to check-in and then we went through security. The plane was delayed, but we made it alright. So we got there and CAI (congregation anshe Israel) was already there. So we just hung around w/them waiting for the chapter from Phoenix, Har Zion I believe to get in. Then we loaded onto the buses and got to Beth Am. There were a ton of people there already but I didn’t really see anyone I wanted to talk to. So I checked in, put my luggage away and blah blah blah. When I put my luggage where I was supposed to I looked at one of the pieces of luggage and figured out I was staying w/Andrew Belefonte, so I thought I was staying w/all of cabinet (apparently not though…). So then I went back outside and was just kinda wandering around. At some point I ran into Roxy and said hello. So then all of a sudden Nathan just walks up to me and introduced himself. So I was like okay, awesome. We just talked for a while, and then I saw David, so I was like I gotta talk to David. And I had already told Nathan how I knew David, so we went up to David and Nathan started saying weird stuff, so David and I felt really weird and just kinda stood there, but I don’t think he realized who I was, cause as soon as I said I’m Jacki, from vegas he shook my hand and then hugged me EEEEEE! Haha. So then we figured out that we were staying at the same house, which was totally awesome. At some point during all this I met Lizzie, Ezra’s ex (or at least I thought they were just ex-s at that point). She was really sweet. It was funny, cause I was like “this may sound weird, but do you know ezra tucker?” and she started laughing. Haha. She asked me what I knew about her, and I said it was all good. So we had opening ceremonies and our first sicha. The woman from Kids for Kids spoke. She was absolutely AMAZING! It was really emotional to watch the movies the kids made. Then my house left like 5 minutes early so we could get ready and put our stuff in the Rabbi’s car so he could take it to his house and make it back before Shabbat. So the girls went in one room and the guys went in another too change. I changed really fast, so I went to go put my stuff away (but it was the room the guys were changing in), so I asked if everyone was decent, and they said yes. Well, Andrew was wearing boxers and David was like in the middle of changing his shirt, but neither of them really seemed to care. Whatever. So we put the stuff in the Rabbi’s car and then we….hmm…I don’t remember exactly. We had free time, I think. But then we were in the Sanctuary too early for services, so people got up and told jokes. Some of them were pretty bad. Justin was doing really funny introductions. So then there were services, led by wonderful Andrew! At one point, there was a group of people dancing on the bimah, so Nathan and I went up, it was great!! Then there was dinner, which was nasty, followed by RUACH! I wasn’t too into, I should’ve been, cause it was rocking! Haha. Then we had another sicha, Rabbi Kravitz spoke. It was almost the same as last time. Then we had an Oneg, and I was FREEZING! And then we went home. We had SO much fun when we got to the Rabbi’s house. There was a ton of food, which was good cause I hadn’t really eaten dinner. But I ate a lot of chips and salsa. Then we just kinda stood around in the kitchen and talked and ate food. Haha. The Rabbi told us that if we woke his kids up cause we were too loud, they’d wake us up really early in the morning. So then the Rabbi and his wife went to bed, and we hung out for a little longer in the kitchen. Then a few other people went to bed, and the rest of us moved into the family room, where the girls were supposed to be sleeping. Oh, and right when we got into the house, I put on my PJs and Andrew was like “OMG! I love spongebob!” And he had really cool spongebob pj pants too. So we were all just like sitting around. David and the girl who I didn’t know what her name was were sitting on the couch talking about Nativ, and I think Rinat was too. Then Andrew and I were talking about musical theatre, I’m pretty sure. So we were talking about Avenue Q, and he said he saw it on Broadway w/David and Daniel before Fall Board weekend. Then he told me that they were trying to go to Dougies and got on the wrong subway and landed up in Queens. It was quite funny, but I guess I would’ve gotten lost too. But I might’ve asked someone how to get to 76th and B-way. They knew it was at 76th and B-way, so they should’ve asked. But whatever, I wasn’t the one who was lost. So, we just talked. And then Andrew, David, and Aaron decided to sleep in the living room w/the girls. So I was gonna sleep the opposite direction, like perpendicular to everyone else. So I lay by David and Andrew’s feet, and my head was close to David’s. David said that he didn’t kick, but his feet were moving a lot, so it made me really nervous. So I moved into the other room w/the futon. I was FREEZING all night. Haha.
