So Andy and I went to see the opera Carmen on Friday. I was surprised that they had anything with class this close to Alabama and that all the cast not only had all their teeth but were good and sang in french. They had a screen over the stage with english. Not as hard to read as I thought since they sung sooo slow and repeated the same phase sooo much. Overall I liked it it was nice to get dressed up, drink wine in the lobby, feel like you lived in a place with some class. But wow it was long and honestly only so long I could listen to someone sing words I don't know and drag it out. Plus the story pissed me off. For those of you that don't know this mom loving solider has this great girl who loves him and he loves her and she takes care of his mom all is good till runs off with this slutty gypsy girl named Carmen. He loses he job, his old girl and his mom gets sick all the while he and Carmen fight and she cheats on him cause well once a slut... So the nice girl comes and gets him cause his mom is dying he leaves Carmen goes to his mom's house instead of staying there and trying to fix things with nice girl he leaves her and goes to Carmen and her new rich bullfighter lover and tries to get her back. Yeah she's going to leave the rich guy for he's broke ass so since he can't have her he kills her and goes to prison. The End. Yeah I paid money to sit for 4 hours to hear that sung in french with it dressed up to sound like something other then whats on springer daily. Blah why on earth would anyone leave someone nice a perfect for someone who straight up tells you she never wants to be tied down? blah
