Mod Post: LJ Fail and Its Effect on Modding
Hello Seekers!
I'm sure you all know that LJ is having issues again. I myself have been unable to access anything for the past four days, and can now only access things for a few minutes at a time, interspersed with hours of "500 Server" errors.
*This is posted here because I doubt I'd get it to post more than once, and most members of peoplespalace are also members of lotseekerfic, but the reverse is not true.
*I apologize that there is no LJ cut. I can't get it to work.
So, what this means for my communities:
The People's Palace
Character Stamping: I haven't been able to get the last batch of voting for character stamps up. Those posts take time to put together, and the notifications take time to send, and LJ plain won't work long enough for me to do it. I've already lost it twice. I also can't review the older voting batches to say who still needs to vote in order to earn their stamp, so right now it's up to you to know where you stand.
Remember you have to vote on 4 applications to earn your stamp, and 15 applications to earn an earned item for the Palace Ranks.
The voting deadline for batches 1-3 is still August 1, 2011, as you've had quite a lot of time to vote on those. The voting deadline for the final batch will be one week from the day I am able to post it. Doing it this way will give me time to make all of the character stamp tags and icons, since the stamps for batches 1-3 will be "locked in" and I will be able to make their tags on schedule while the voting for batch 4 is going on.
Tag Checks: Because of a combination of lack of time, and now being unable to reliably access the site, I am behind on tag checks. You may receive mod comments about tags and format for entries as late as two weeks ago. I'm not picking on you, I just haven't had a chance to check those entries yet. ^_^
LotSeeker Fic
Moderation Queue: If you have a fic waiting in the moderation queue, I am sorry. I will check them and push them through as soon as possible, but currently I am unable to view the queue.
Tag Checks: If you are a pre-approved user and your posts bypass the moderation queue to appear directly on the community, you may receive mod comments about tags and format for entries as late as two weeks ago. I'm not picking on you, I just haven't had a chance to check those entries yet. ^_^
Compliance with Rules regarding book!verse fic: I have received a few reports that certain fics are not in compliance with the rules regarding book!verse. As soon as LJ is reliable again, I will be examining those fics myself and contacting the authors if I think further action is required. You can view the rules, and a set of guidelines to "test" your fic for compliance, in the LotSeekerFic profile. If you have any doubt about any fics you have posted on LotSeekerFic, please review the guidelines and contact me. It might save me some work, which I would really appreciate, and save you potential hassle. ^_^ Please remember that the mods of LotSeekerFic are not looking to exclude fic just to do it. We simply want to keep high standards of tagging and formatting for the ease of readers, and to respect the wishes of the author Terry Goodkind. <3
Participation Banners: If we still owe you a banner for participating in the Reverse Mini Bang, never fear, we haven't forgotten. We'll get them to you as soon as things calm down. ^_^
